CTEK SMARTPASS 120S and 250SE DC to DC charger basic features and install information

Can anyone help me understand whether the alternator sensing wire for smart alternator should be connected when installing the CTEK D250SE to the Ineos installed CTEK 120S (mine is the unbranded one without a consumer load point).

I used the GPFactor bracket and everything is installed except that alternator wire. I can't figure out if I need to connect it.

Info is somewhere here but Ctek say if in doubt as to what alternator you have... connect the wire. I guess it sorts itself out...

Mine was installed by XHQ and they did not attach the red wire. Mine has worked correctly. AU Spec diesel with INEOS dual battery setup.

Has anyone hooked it up? I did mine, as many described here without attaching the red wire. Seems to work just fine.
