Contract

I've just spoken to my local agent, Richard Young of Chandlers in Belton and my build date is still shown as January 2023. No contract date given and no idea when it is going out. He anticipates about 90 days from contract to delivery, so I am going to park the money in a term deposit account.

The hope is killing me! (My LR110 was sold in August, so some sort of withdrawal has kicked in).

Not tried the hotline but I used the online chat...to very little effect:

Without a contract, it is very unlikely that the Grenadier will be built in January. Ineos sends out the contracts in such a way that there is subsequently no excessive waiting time before delivery. Vehicles are first built for those who also have purchase contracts. This is what I have been told by Ineos.
...that's why they're already assembling mine today.😂

Do you have a VIN for it?
I can't tell you. I signed a contract and had it confirmed in writing. But I've already filed it away and haven't looked at it since. I'll just wait and see, someone will get back to me sooner or later. Where is the VIN supposed to be?

Well it's not in the contract but if you know yours is moving into production then it should be available from Ineos.

I got my VIN today from my agent. I had to request it, he had to send a couple of emails.

In a same scenario to lots of other people, my agent told me it was down for a Jan build date and de;I very would be end of Feb or the start of March.

I have been told by IA that my delivery date was Feb/March.

Still no contract and now I am reading here that it’s 90 days from time of signing contract.

Not a great outlook I have to say. Still had no confirmation on my changes I made either.

Think I should give ASPW a private message, he would love this 😃

I was told delivery was 45-90 days from manufacture
I am in Australia so that includes a lot of time on a boat
I can't understand why it would be 90 days delivery in Europe

We have something known as Brexit in the UK, and a 90 day transit to cross an EU border seems a par for the course. We want to see the state of vegetables in the supermarkets they look like they have spent 90 days in the back of a lorry

Dave I am talking about 90 days from the signing of contract, not from manufacture to the customers door buddy.

I think that's the ideal plan when all the wrinkles are ironed out for a UK customer.

Day 1 ~ contract issued
Day 7 ~ contract deadline for signing or it expires (7 days)
Day 60 ~ vehicle enters production
Day 65 ~ vehicle production completed (5 days)
Day 72 ~ ex Hambach outbound logistics completed (7 days)
Day 74 ~ ferry sailing (2 days)
Day 81 ~ ex ferry port inbound logistics completed (7 days)
Day 82 ~ arrives at retail agents
Day 89 ~ retail agent completes PDI & accessory fitments (7 days)
Day 90 ~ vehicle available for handover

Interesting that Ineos told me today that they won’t start production of the car until the contract is signed - and that a whole batch of contracts are just about to be sent out.
Given that the production date of mine is down to 23/1/23 - then that doesn’t leave much time between contract signing and production date….. and I still haven’t seen my contract yet.

That sounds reasonable ~ I signed my contract on 15th Nov and think my vehicle has now been built and parked awaiting missing bits.

Optimistically, I'm hoping that means the log jam downstream has been sorted and they are ready to switch the factory back on.

If all your changes are already in then it should be a fast turnaround.

I think at this stage they are not using signed contracts to trigger parts ordering/call off but have probably just filled their stores with bins of all parts.

Hm, this is all 2 much speculative.. guess and crystal ball gazing. I think next week once most of the staff back to regular works - we may expect more.
My contract is expected to be sent out this month according to agent K&E.
So be relaxed ... the production rate will increase now.. hopefully not to many hangovers from New Years Eve left.. - and headaches gone.
Ineos is certainly confronted with all issues that affects any other vehicle builders. They re not somehow magically exempted. There is planning and reality both often not aligned.

Fingers crossed for more contracts and first deliveries this month and next. In terms of semi-completed or completed cars waiting for parts then we can expect more hinderance from the Chinese New Year holidays running from 21 Jan for a fortnight. This often has knock-on effects to worldwide supply chains.

Not doom-mongering just a reality.

Good evening Folks, I see the AI gremlins are at work on the Grenadier website again, This morning My build price was showing and the build summary there to down load, and this evening, like magic its gone [again] I wonder if the morrow, being Friday when "Everything happens" the build specification , price an dare I suggest build date be evident - or is this just wishful thinking?? Friday will reveal everything .......
