Chuckle in Your Day! (AKA the joke thread)

I saw the word "currency" used instead of "consistency" a few minutes ago.
The future is dire!
And then there is this. Say it with a Glasgow accent for full effect ;>)

Uncle Donny has said that the excavations are almost done and asked if I can supply 1.5million of these surveyor pegs in various sizes to The Gaza Strip.
I had to look that up and a bloody good thing too, I first thought it would be one of his clubs (y) 😂

What about the asbestos? Logically, sell them tons of hoovers?

The asbestos risk is serious business. My father recently died of mesothelioma and now my mother is suffering as she washed his work clothes every week. All of my dad’s work colleagues died twenty years before him due to asbestosis. In the U.K., schools, hospitals, military housing and industrial buildings are full of it. It was also used until fairly recently in ship building in the U.K. including for military ships. It’ll be a problem for the world for generations sadly.

Same with my Dad due to WWII and the ship he was on, a destroyer HMAS Hobart with the asbestos lagging on pipes...it is not pleasant and I hope your mum doesn't have to suffer too long, sadly there's nothing funny about this.

Asbestos diseases are well known in Australia; Midnight Oil wrote a song about the Witenoom mine saga - " Blue Sky Mine" drawing attention to this and other mining illnesses.
In my 35 years in pathology I've seen my fair share of cases, diagnosed with an heavy heart, and can only hope that treatments improve.

Given the average life expectancy in Gaza is about 40 years I think asbestos is the least of their problems.
Yes but DT wants to build resorts and hotels. Would I holiday there? (even without religious tensions) = no.
The ground will be "radioactive" forever.
