boot area dome light wiring

Done and tested! Opening doors triggers the light. Will try it out when it gets dark. If it's not bright enough, I can double the output with a second unit.

For the most random reason, thank you for this post! I’m at a drive-in, backed into a spot to sit in the back for the movie… turns out there is no way to turn off this damned light with the doors open. Found this post and just disconnected the light 😂

I had been thinking about doing this also. I unfortunately did not take this out of my Defender when I traded it in because the light socket in the ceiling is the same.

I found one of these on ebay and went about installing it. I got it working, but it does not have compatible connectors. I will post photos of the final install soon, if anyone is interested.

In typical internet fashion I started getting FB adds for companies.

I installed the 12” light above my rear door table, very happy with it. Adding two more to illuminate cargo area one on either side similar to the red Grenadier build someone posted. All wired to INT2 with their dimmer switch for the two cargo lights. Will post some photos when complete.
