General B58 performance tune

Any update on the mileage or performance over the last two months? Did you buy it direct from the UK? How was shipping?
I've been very happy with it. I broke my first one, my fault with how I installed it, so the second one I just used gasket head glue that's good to like 750F to put it right on the plastic cover. So far it's been running like a champ. With the much larger tires it really helps a lot. My mpg sucks but that's because of the tires. I get 12-13mpg with Nokian 285/75R17s but then again I don't baby it. I also put a brush guard on it. 100% worth it to me. I know people are worried about warranty so I won't speak to whether you should do it or not. But I'm also running Red Line 5w30 now and it purrrrrs. Idle and everything is much better.

Did your Bluespark unit come with any instructions? and a two piece wiring harness with a shunted pigtail out of one of the plugs?

I've got one, just trying to figure out if its the correct one or not, since it didn't have any documentation, and the funky harness.

Dealing with the same exact thing right now, standing here getting ready to install it on my quartermaster.

Just installed the Bluespark Tuner on my new Quartermaster last night. Today the truck almost got away from me at a light. Very noticeable increase in push you back in your seatness. Love it, can’t wait to tow with it and see the difference there. So worth the money, the owner of Off Road Gear Guys helped me find the CAM sensor as they don’t have the full install instructions for it out yet, or at least I couldn’t find them… took me 30 minutes to install cleanly. Watched the temp today driving in the heat and it didn’t ever seem to get hot at all. So pleased.

Was this document not helpful from Blue Spark ? https://bluesparkautomotive.com/instructionfiles/798.pdf
I have received my tuner , but not installed it yet. Any tips would be helpful
It was helpful but the CAM sensor wasn't where its shown in the pic/diagram and there are a couple other sensors I was thinking it could be. When I jumped on FaceTime with him he was able to point me in the right direction. Also, not sure if its covered but once you're done wiring it in the best place to put the tuner is on the right hand side of the engine bay back toward the windshield. There is a cover over the wiper motor you can pop off with a 10mm nut and there is room under there for the module and the wire wraps around nicely between the rubber seals for the bonnet. I just used heavy duty double sided tape to secure it inside there. Worked out great, looks tidy and the module is protected from water and dust etc.

Very compelling. Jumping down this rabbit hole, it appears that despite all claims to the contrary, BMW techs (unsure about Ineos techs but I would expect them to have similar ECU interfaces) are immediately able to detect even the previous use of one of these piggyback tunes. Can anyone speak to the possibility here? Wondering about warranty coverage.

If your worry get a pedal tune

My pedal tune is awesome! Made a big difference https://www.design-build-go.com/product-page/io-pedal-tuner @David Czarnecki

Took it to the dealer and let the sales staff drive it , they could not believe the difference. Feels like more HP and just makes it so much more fun to drive
exactly how I felt when I first installed mine (same product you posted) - I love it, massive difference, plus when you tune it way down, it works really well offroad. Less touchy gas pedal, easier throttle control, etc.

I installed a bluespark tune today and don’t notice any difference at all. Can it be that I didn’t install it properly or would the car not even run if that were the case?

Thanks,

Adam

Adam, I think it would still run, maybe not great though.

I installed the bluespark tune on my QM like 2 weeks ago. Right after installing I took out and could not tell a difference either.

The results got more and more noticeable the closer I drove to 200 miles as it learns your driving habits I guess?

I notice huge difference now, also towed a boat up the canyon the other day and towing was incredible. Felt like a totally different vehicle.

Maybe drive it around for a tank of gas and if you still feel nothing then maybe it’s faulty and they have that 30 day no questions returned policy. Swap it out maybe?

Good luck

Thanks ro helping me out. I am going to give it some more time and see if things change. I will also take a picture and post it here so others can tell me if it looks installed like theirs are.

Thanks again,

Adam

Appreciate the ongoing discussion about this. I ended up going with the Bluespark and just installed it today. Another datapoint in the “it rips” category. Recommend.

So I am not sure why this is different by me as everyone is reporting major increases and I haven’t felt anything still. Below is how I connected everything. Can someone please look at this and let me know if I messed up?

Thanks,

Adam

Bluespark really should have made specific instructions for the Ineos and not generic B58 instructions. I went by the Titan Racechip install video, which also has a cam lead. There is a diagram at 0:10 and close-up video further in. The cam sensor is under the letter M in your first photo.

Loving My Bluespark - I have 2000 miles on mine now and it works great. Gas mileage per gallon depending on how you drive, but mine is at about 14mpg.

Call Off Road Gear Guys - Marty to purchase yours here in the US>

I called off road gear guys and spoke to Marty. What a really nice gentlemen! My instal was correct. I just had the doors open and never let the car basically sleep when installing. So I disconnected turned the car off and locked it all while leaving the hood open. I waited a while (instructions say 5 min). I actually had to go do something so it was more like 25 min. Then I popped the hood and connected it again. I don’t know yet if it’s working but I did do one quick rip down my residential block and it went 0-60 in 6 seconds. Prior to that it did it in 8 and change as they specify. I was driving alone and counted out loud. I was also in my residential block and didn’t want to try again. I will drive it more and hopefully it worked this time. I also know it does take some time to adjust from what I’ve read. Thanks thus far for everyone help.
