I am process if figuring out a tray and canopy set up. I could use some feedback/advice. I can do a half box or a full box for QM. The tire will go underneath and I will have a additional gas tank below. The canopy can be removed if needed.

Keep an eye on Ronny Dahl's Youtube channel, as he will be putting his QM thru several configurations in the coming months.I am process if figuring out a tray and canopy set up. Definitely seeing what Ronny comes up with. I was a big fan of his 79 half box tour with pcor tray. I think it was called black knight.Keep an eye on Ronny Dahl's Youtube channel, as he will be putting his QM thru several configurations in the coming months.
I love this idea. Saw a recent video about TC boxes and this set up. They then hod a mesh door in center to allow putting stuff down the middle. Not everyone's cup of tea but I am looking at off the shelf tool boxes like my field service ute. I have come to like this set up, it's more pratical for daily duties compared to my own ute with a custom full canopy. Better rear visibility. One set up with a removable kitchen and the other set up for storage for a two person tourer.

3/4 box also works well, leaves enough space at the rear to fit jerry cans, extra spare tyre gas bottles etc and not make the car excessively long.
Set ups can be so personal that I struggled with the idea to ask the question. What are your needs?
Is having gear open to the weather an issue? - full canopy
Is weight an issue?- Half canopy
How much gear do I normally take? (yes I know like most guys sheds...the bigger the more gear you'll fill it with)
Attach the spare to the back of the canopy? Not sure if the QM will accept the spare underneath especially with the extra tank- I know this as I've gone through the exercise.
