Alu-cab grenadier

Happy days. I’m real keen on a roof conversion 😎
I'm really curious to see what they come up with. It is going to be a big challenge. I'm not interested in a conversion that eliminates the ceiling switch panel, and they've already removed the panel in the vehicle shown. Maybe it's just stuffed in the white bag? :D

I’ll be interested to see if Ineos does a 130 model. To me that would be the one to convert to get the extra room.
I think the Quartermaster double cab pickup is 127” wheelbase as were the early versions of Defender before being named Defender 130

I thought the Trialmaster and Quartermaster have the same wheelbase, only the rear overhang is larger on the Quartermaster!?

I hope they work some magic and it opens sideways, keeping the safari windows and roof panel. Or backwards like the Habitats.

Quartermaster ute has wheelbase stretched by 305mm.
Over length 545mm longer

My guess: around 15'000 Euros. 😵‍💫
A lot of money I know but a roof top top tent can be £3500+ nowadays plus the roof rack to put it on and nowhere near as convenient
I imagine if EX-TEC come up with one then it will be dearer than that. Their Defender conversions are nice but more expensive than Alucab.

Yes.

But that doesn't make it any better.

I only wanted to point out that the roof construction of the Grenadier is a real challenge for the makers and will raise the price tag significantly.

Fair enough. I’m keen on a roof conversion though 👍🏼

I'm curious how they will solve the difficulties. And for the price ...

Yes interesting to see how they do it ,hopefully it doesn’t prove too expensive.

8 mm? That’s like 5/16”. Better hope there’s no pebbles along your path!
Well I can always remove the quick release RTT fittings if there is a little kiss.

Taz,
What Rack / RTT combo have you decided to go with?
Looking at a FR Slimline II 3/4 rack to accommodate for my safari windows doesn't leave much room to play with unless I choose to overhang the front portion of an Alucab or iKamper BDV. The Bundutec is about the only one that perfectly fits a 3/4 rack profile.

Thanks!
