Thread 'Unused connection'
Hi, Whilst digging around the rear of the van I came across this plug that's not being used. It sits behind the panel in the boot on the passenger side, RHD vehicle. It's towards the front edge of the wheel arch. Anyone know what it was intended for and what type of plug it is? Cheers G.
Hey guys! Preface: I’m not great with electrical but am an ambitious DIY guy. I don’t want to burn down my Gren or cause issues for this project. I have a Midland MXT575. It fits PERFECTLY behind the plastic panel in the footwell right where the Int2 switch is wired. I love the idea of having it wired into that outlet considering it’s in front of an ignition relay with the option to turn it on overhead. However, I’m concerned about the power requirements of this unit. It peaks at 10A and...
Yellow Engine Light: My came on after fueling up and not it will not go off. Anyone else having this issue?
Hi all I have a 2023 Trialmaster wagon, and a little while ago I put a solar panel on the roof in between the cross bars. I already had in place an Anderson plug with a lead and fuse to the auxiliary battery terminals. This is how I (prior to solar) charged my lithium battery box on my Cape trip. Since that trip the battery system never gets much above 85%, in fairness I mostly do short trips. Because the start battery is harder to access due to all the plastic panels covering it, where...
Thread 'Finally solved the auto stop switch'
Hello? I finally solved the auto stop switch problem. The switch OFF tool introduced on YouTube was actually too expensive to even think about, and it was currently out of stock, so it was difficult to solve. However, I found the camera fixing parts below. The handle and bolt (M4) are assembled with a spring hidden inside the handle. That is, when you pull the handle, the spring is compressed, and when you release your hand, it presses the target with an appropriate amount of...
I received my Trialmaster back from the dealership after 3 weeks of warranty work. I have now noticed that the 2nd and 3rd row lights do not come on when I open the doors. The front lights at the overhead panel comes on as expected. The switch for automatic interior lights in the overhead panel is switched on. The 2nd and 3rd row lights also don't come on when you toggle the switch in the overhead panel for interior lights. The second row lights also don't switch on when you press their...
Given that the option to have a factory fit auxiliary battery has now been discontinued, what would be required in order to fit one to ensure smooth running of a front mounted winch, such as NOMAD winch or similar? Does the vehicle come with the CTEK battery management system when not fitted with the auxiliary battery?
Hello all. I have a 2024 Grenadier FM and it came with the dual battery. I think I understand what the dual battery does (or not does). My question is more about adding an Ecoflow Delta 3 and the 800W alternator charger to this and if I am able to connect to the aux. battery or will have to run from the starter battery? I do believe that the aux. battery to charge via the alternator which is why I thought this may work. It would also make install MUCH easier if I wasn't running the...
Can anyone provide pictures of the plugs/harnesses for the taillights and OEM grill lights?
Hey all, brought my grenade in today for some work on a broken rear seat latch. The Service manager told me I'd be getting the long awaited software update today. "The one everyone has been waiting for." I had to run so I couldn't ask her more specifically but, could it be the infamous Speed Warning fix!!!! Of course I have to wait for another part... so I will not get my truck today but, I'll let you guys know as soon as I do. Anyone else hearing of this?
Thread 'Battery Monitor'
After my first camping adventure running my fridge and got tired of needing to start my truck to get a voltage reading. Seemed like a waste so searched and found The Doc's Battery Monitor Review and picked up one BLE to put on my auxiliary battery. The app worked well, but really wanted to monitor both batteries. Went to the online FAQ and they recommended this software. While not free - was $9.99 from the iStore here in the US and works like a charm. Can monitor up to 4 devices, thus...
I think it is AO that sells the plug into the NATO connector itself, but just the plug. Why aren’t there more, or any as far as I can tell, NATO plug to a common connector like an Anderson plug? With all the different doo-dads and add-ons for the Grenadier, I wonder why no one has done this? I was thinking about an under the seat mount for a dual ARB set up, but I’m starting to think a portable one may be better. Seems like a no-brainer to use the NATO plug to power it. I have very little...
Thread 'Connecting to the battery?'
Hello, I’m in the process of installing Rock Slide Engineering steps and they came with small loop wires and instructions to connect to the battery on the passenger side (I have the dual battery system). Q1: What is the process to disconnect the battery for this task? Can I disconnect one terminal at a time on the passages side only? The wire has a fuse that I removed for safety and I’ll place it back at the end. Q2: what adapter do you recommend to get from the small loops to something...
Is it possible to disconnect the external power outlets on the roof from the mains and supply them with a power bank? When camping, I could then use the Stedi lamps outside without draining the starter battery.
Gday all, I'm currently in the process of installing a fixed solar panel on the roof as well as a light bar. I want to run the cables from the battery up one of the pillars and out where the currentl AUX wiring is externally. has anyone had the interior apart and have photos so I can see what it looks like and where the current cables run
I would like to wire up a rear view mirror camera and use this rather than the standard rear view mirror in my grenadier. I expect that I will need to run wiring through the roof space to a camera at the rear of the vehicle. So does anyone know if I can simply run a cable by unscrewing one of the overhead plates where the switches are and push a cable to the rear of the vehicle. Also will i find power in the roof space that can be hooked into to power the rear view mirror camera. Thanks...
Last weekend, I drove a bit over 600 km in one day. On my route, when I looked at the Offroad -> Statistics view, I noticed an error. After about 290 km, neither the elevation profile nor the mileage was any more updated. Has anyone else noticed this?
Hi all. Anybody experiencing a heap of warning lights coming on at start up if you have to do a quick start up? Example finish a trip turn car off but leave key in ignition, click to auxiliary 30 seconds later, wait for all the normal light to to go blank, start car up and all hell breaks loose. Never happens if I lock the car. Only on quick restarts. Also anybody else get a transmission warning on start up from time to time? Cheers
