Thread 'Slightly Frou-Frou / Fancy Seat Covers (Possibly Eye-Roll Inducing But Don’t Judge lol)'
I looked at a lot of seat cover options — from simple to the completely custom. Decided to go more simple for now to see if that was all that was needed. I loooove these! Yes, they could be deemed a little frou frou, but personally I like a little frou thrown in with the rugged. Okay fine, I like a lot of frou on the side but this is the only frou I’m allowing in my Grenadier. These fit perfectly and don’t slide around!
What are you guys using to hang coats and jackets? The grab handle?
Hi Folks, brand new Grenadier owner here with a question. I'm ok without the center fold out armrest in the rear, but the kids and wife are on me about the lack of cup holders for the many long trips we take. And the ones I've seen seem to make it impossible to have three people in the rear, if need be. Found this option of a pop-out recessed cup holder, see link below, but wondering if anyone who is more engineering minded could tell me if it could/would work? In lifting up the seats...
new IG with less than 300 miles. Driving over washboard road at speeds of around 20-25mph results in a metallic / hollow sounding rattle above the driver-side footwell region. Driving at any speeds on pavement does not trigger this rattle. Anyone else experience something similar?
I originally wanted the saddle leather and would have spec'd it to a build... but, I ended up with one that was on a dealer's lot with every other option I wanted. The 1924 Edition then was announced and offers black saddle leather, which I think I'd prefer the aesthetics of. Can anyone think of an upholsterer who might take on a request for stitching black saddle leather over the existing steering wheel - WHILE IN PLACE? I don't want to go removing it and shipping as my local high-end...
Hi all, the dealership sent me the ineos branded metal partition for the cargo space in the back. Unfortunately, I did not get the install instructions. Before I go spending time figuring it out tomorrow. I was hoping if somebody had a link available. Yes, I did search the forums, but I did not find anything that seem to be of use. Thank you!
I’ve been trying to find a rigid cargo storage bin with a lid that would fit up behind the back seats in the cargo area. Something vertically short and as long as it can be, but not deep — with the goal being it could always live there without really being in the way of using the cargo area for other things. Also would like a hinged lid. It would be for stuff I’d always want in there — bungee cords, tools, towels, emergency kit and first aid kit, small battery-powered car jumper...
Hi all! First time posting here, and I’ve had my Trialmaster for three days now. Truly enjoying it. I’ve read everything in this forum about tall drivers and visibility. I’m 6’4, with a tall torso, there’s plenty of headroom, but with the seat in the lowest position (or any other position), I have to use a less-than-ideal posture to have proper visibility. One thing I am hoping to do, is completely remove the sun visor, but then there is the plastic sun visor hook and mount trim pieces...
When I hit harsh cracks, bumps in the road I get a loud resonation in the cabin that sounds like being in a bass drum. I'm guessing one of the larger panels is resonating, but I haven't been able to narrow down the source. I feel like a well placed sheet of dynamat would solve the issue. Is anyone else having this problem? I say "problem" because it was not present in the two grenadiers we test-drove.
Does anyone have some tips on stretching these covers, like the rear seats backrest. Any tips or techniques would be appreciated.
With my windows down while driving, starting at around 35mph my cabin pressure vent flaps go crazy. Has anyone else's done this? I have had mine at the dealer already but was not fixed. The slapping/rattle generated drives me nuts. It is not a subtle sound!!! I have already broken my body panels down for access. Removed the flaps themselves to prove they are the root cause. If someone already has engineered a fix please share here. I already have 2 possible solutions from what I...
Perhaps a daft question, but what are the two clips under the lid of the center console intended for? Car papers? sunglasses? Can't seem to find something that works properly.
After a wooden mockup I'm starting to build the first aluminium rail support in the back of my SW. And now I need to be much more precise when ordering the aluminium rails. So my question : is there somewhere an exact (CAD) drawing of the airline rails, including distance between them ? I get 88.8cm as distance between them (with my old eyes), which is suspiciously close to 88.9cm = 35 inch. Also I get a distance along the rails between two (arbitrary chosen) holes as 40,6 cm which is...
I searched for this vendor but can’t seem to find them here. I like these overhead bins — does anyone have these? https://grenadierusa.com/products/overhead-cockpit-shelves?variant=45390951612632
Thread 'Escape Gear Seat Covers'
I just installed seat covers by Escape Gear. A pretty straight forward install, about 45 minutes? I didn't check the clock, but it didn't take long. Good documentation on the install process included. The covers are nicely made, seams are good and the fabric feels good. I ordered the polycotton canvas which only comes in a charcoal color. It's a cotton / polyester blend and feels pretty tough. I like the fit, a few wrinkles, but not too bad. The fit feels tight and secure, even if it all...
I have tried the prescribed method in the manual of stabilizing the bottle jack in the cargo area - I pump it up so it locks itself into the cavity it’s strapped into. However after a few days the jack lowers again it starts rattling again. I have tried the nylon strap. It does nothing in terms of stabilizing the jack. Are there other strategies of locking in the bottle jack so it doesn’t rattle?
Thread 'Rear view mirror mount dislodged.'
Hey all. I’m installing the wolf box and when I was removing the rear view mirror the mount came off. Any idea how to put it back on? I have not had any luck.
Hi the driver's side air vent cannot be moved sideways (but it can be moved up and down) the passenger one can be moved both ways Is this the way it has been designed ? I yes ,for what reason , you think ? Pierre
Thread 'Dynamat to the rescue - cabin booming noise reduced'
Some postings and other places have made mention of a cabin booming or reverb type sound when traveling down the road or when you hit a sharp bump at speed, especially when the cabin/cargo area is empty in the Grenadier. I’ve experienced similar sounds and although not horrifyingly loud for short trips on longer highway drives it seems a bit more annoying. I’m not a big fan of sticking sound deadening material all over the place but I had a hunch the rear floor in the cargo area was...
Thread 'Loadspace retention kit'
Grenadier's accessories page shows a picture of a loadspace retention kit, though not available as a known accessory through Ineos. A bit of online sleuthing brings up the Land Rover "Loadspace Retention Kit" (known as part VPLWS0243 or like-for-like Jaguar C2Z31984). That non-IG part does not come with rail/track adapters. Question is: If I find the LR adapters, is the loadspace rail in a Land Rover compatible with the Grenadier L-Track? Ineos' accessories page ("Interior | Inner...
