Windshield Wiper Issue

So its just not getting done before purchase? This would be my only time seeing this on any of my rides. Sadly when I had the car prepped for PPF they also did the windows with clay bar and paint but I still ran into that issue.
Did your detailer ceramic coat your windscreen by any chance?

I've had about 4 different coatings applied to help resolve the skipping nothing worked....
There is your problem. Take off the coatings using a clay bar, autoglym window polish and put a new set of wipers on. In my opinion, coatings make it worse.

did this too, that was the first step.

I give up. Buy a new car 🤣
lol yeah right, they are actually talking about putting my blades back to OEM and if it still exist replace the windshield itself. Soo I'll way on that first, or if it becomes a lemon over silly stuff.

I have a 2024 TM and my wipers skip even if I swap them for the Bosch Icon wiper blades. I drove a loaner this past weekend and I was able to use the loaners wiper blades since it rained all day. To my surprise, the wiper blades on the 2025 Fieldmaster didn’t chatter/skip at all. It was smooth at any setting. I have no clue why mine has this problem.

I channeled my inner Project Farm today and used a force meter to check the wiper arm pressure. I compared the Grenadier against a 2024 Bronco. Both sides of the Bronco came in at 2.2 lbs of force to lift the wiper off the windshield. It was 1.3 lbs per side on the Grenadier. I've seen assist springs and may give those a try.

The dealer will bend the arms to increase pressure. I'd consider bending the arms in and remeasure. I like that you took the time to measure in the first place. I will try to remember to check mine in the next day or two. The dealer bent mine a month or so ago and it helped a lot. And moving to traditional frame Bosch blades made an even bigger improvement. I don't believe in the mono blade style when it comes to flat windshields. They are always a bit light in the middle.

Mine come in around 1.13lbs at the J of the wiper arm. That's using a high precision digital bike scale.

I dropped mine off yesterday for a hopeful AC fix. When I get it back I will do some small bend progressions and see if I can find the minimum it takes to stop the skipping.

Do you still have stock wiper blades? I refused to believe it, but the stock blades are junk. Switching to quality old school blades made a dramatic difference and I don't have any complaints now. Mine skipped at one point and then started missing huge sections of the windshield. Ineos bent them and they got a bit better, but the new blades finished it off.

Yes I still have the stock blades and I agree the stock blades seem pretty poor. Which blades are you using?

I believe I have Bosch icon micro blades. They have the old school metal frames. I don't think the blade style works well on flatter windshields. The old metal frame style distributes pressure evenly where the newer blade style is higher pressure at the ends of the blade.

Hybrid type wipers are the best. Best of both worlds using an old skool metal frame with an aerodynamic shape. I swear by my Denso Hyrbid used on most OEM Japanese cars. But make sure when you change wipers, polish the windscreen using autoglym or Gtecnic window polish to remove any wax or resin which can cause smearing.
