I bought a second hand Grenadier back in May and have done about 20k km in it. Most weekends have been spent in the dunes of the Middle East (when it hasn’t been too hot).

Before I made any upgrades, I wanted to see how the vehicle ran “stock” but now I’ve started poking around. It seems that some upgrades were made to this vehicle before I took ownership. Some I already knew about - air-lines going to each of the four wheels for example - but others seem less overt.

Take a look at these pictures, does anyone know if this is stock suspension or an upgrade to the GVM? I don’t believe that there has been a lift, but I might be wrong.

I've only ever seen yellow factory springs so I doubt these are the originals The wire size looks a bit thicker than standard so they might be heavy duty. I don't recognise the red paint.
I'm not aware of any HD springs that are not a lift spring as well. There is growing interest in that option. I'd also be keen to learn what you have here.

My driveway is on a slope, I’ll measure when I find some flat ground to see what ground to arch measurement is and see what sort of lift, if any, I have.

With help from Chat I think they are Dobinsons. Rear C51-155V and front C51-154.
So a 45mm lift and 330-660lbs constant load in rear and 45mm lift and 110-220lbs load in front.

I saw those also. I've only ever seen Dobinson springs in their signature teal blue colour. That might not be reliable though. These springs have part numbers visible so it's the original red paint or powder coat. I found some Eibachs with PN 10713 and 10714 but they're black and for an Audi A6 so probably a PN coincidence. Maybe get a wet cloth in there and see if you can find any other markings?

This pic is a Dobinsons lift kit on DMW's Grenadier.
