I have added the problem and this solution to the Resources links (currently No 31 under the second heading). An issue I had with the Le Tech rear ladder is the Jerry can scratching the rear panel due to it sitting so close. It’s the same issue @frankmate recently posted about here.
I had solved it for myself by using an EVA boat decking pad I’d crudely handcut before a trip a while back. It had always been on my mind to cut a neater one using my hobby CNC.
Anyway I finally got around to it this weekend. I had to create a clamping jig and use a sacrificial ply later to hold the foam flat during cutting and preserve the adhesive backing. The finish isn’t as smooth as commercial units can achieve but it’s much neater than my hand cutting. I have some other bits on the way to see if I can improve it.
What width is that little table?Options are good. For those tea breaks when you don't want , or can't have the rear doors open.
I'm playing around with the best mounting system
I don't want the L track levered off the door skin so I plan to use an adjustable tent pole to support and level the table .
If you wanted fancy you could fashion a stay to the lower door track. I can't be arsed faffing about with that malarkey!
