I only play on the 3d printer every now and then and still finding my feet really. I do like playing in fusion 360 designing stuff though (still learning that as well).

I like the idea of having usb outlets there to keep the wife happy and I really like the size and shape of that usb charger - it is almost the same size as one of the rotary knobs. I may have to play a bit to see what can be done to fit one to a replica knob.
Is that a Narva one or did you get it off amazon/ebay?

I don't like the idea of a phone there though, don't want to be restricting any a/c air flow having a phone in front of the vents so i have yet to explore the space behind/under that trim piece.

I don't really need access to my phone over and above what is available via the vehicle controls so I have my phone holder mounted down by my front seat out of the way. I can slip the phone in and out easy enough and the usb cable just goes up beside the drivers seat into the centre arm rest for power/connectivity.

I don't need my phone, I use Android auto as well, but there isn't really anywhere to put it, it's fallen onto the floor from the little shelf and the tray in front of driver needs sides. I don't find it disturbs the air con much. I'll get a photo of it in place tomorrow. It's the charging that I require, on long trips. I hated the cables everywhere. I put a charger in near the handle in front of passenger, but it was hard to see and use. I took it out and ran wires to this new one. Harder to take that one out than put this one in!

Today I ungraded my alternator charger to a BLUETTI charger 2 which charges my power station in quick time using either or both the alternator and solar. One of the other benefits of this device is it can reverse charge to trickle and maintain the car battery when the battery is low on voltage. A simple upgrade for the DIYER. The BLUETTI eco system will allow me to also add standalone batteries and power hub sockets as I go along. I think these portable systems are the future for camping. I’m getting rid of gas and all in for induction cooking.

I’ve enclosed a picture of the tool to remove the screw under the rear seat bar which is a pain in the arse to get to. I can remove the plastic cover without unscrewing the seat base or sawing a hole through the plastic cover. The tool is a long arm off set star torq wrench.

I typically leave my phone in a thigh pocket of my pants, but this phone mount has proven incredibly useful! I had the same heat/AC vent concerns as Greg but it has not been an issue. I use floor vents only for 90% of my use and for that 10% it is easy to turn off one vent.

Excellent. One of my few criticisms of the Grenadier is a lack of cabin storage space, these go a long way to help

Serious potential here, but there appears to be little information about the vendor available on line. No address, no phone number. Doesn't mean they are not legit but it does raise questions. Obviously out of China but that is not immediately disqualifying.

The best part is that it leaves the OEM exhaust intact and keeps all the weight in front of the rear axle. Who wants to be the first guinea pig?

I am happy with my LRA tank, but the centering the weight and stock exhaust are pluses. Negative is no skid plate and little information. They make skid plates, so they need to make one for this.

You are thinking of LRA aren't you? You could be the early adopter... Customs is hell for small OUS companies right now, I would expect a 30% tariff and big shipping/process bill. So probably add 50% onto their price, and a lot of headaches.

I do like the centered design. Give them a year.

A few modest upgrades to my truck in the past few weeks.

1. I had the rubber trim installed around the windscreen. (Thanks to TheDocAUS for the necessary info.)

Having already replaced one windscreen in 13 months of ownership, this struck me as an elegant and practical investment to reduce the likelihood of another cracked windscreen.

2. I had the Octodyne keyhole light installed.

I really appreciate it already! My mechanic was a little underwhelmed by the adhesive bonding agent and was reluctant to screw into the cabin to secure it further. At the moment, everything looks and feels good.

3. I installed the DVAMechanics INEOS Grenadier: DualTrack™ Low-Profile Roof Crossbar System.

It is a very elegant and almost infinitely adaptable design. I also like the fact that even with the hooks installed as shown it only raises the profile of the truck by a couple of inches: an important consideration for folks like me who often use city garages.

4. I installed the DVAMechanics INEOS Grenadier: Ladder-Mounted Accessory Carrier – Modular Gear Mount, Gen 2 and the 20L NATO Jerry Can Carrier for Side & Rear-Ladder Accessory Carriers. (Unfortunately there was no instructions for assembling for the Ladder-Mounted Accessory Carrier so I wasted a LOT of time by thinking I should follow the instructions for the INEOS Grenadier: Ladder-Mounted Recovery Board Carrier – MaxTrax MKII & Lite. Big mistake.)

5. I acquired two 20 liter (5 gallon) Wavian jerry cans from JB Tools. The rigid plastic spout (even with the spring removed) broke the first time I filled the tank (and had lousy flow). I swapped the spouts for both cans with the Long-Nose, Flexible Jerry Can Spout / Nozzle Built To NATO European Military Spec from the good folks at Atlantic British Ltd. This replacement gooseneck spout has great flow, no leaks, and will flex if you accidently let the can slip an inch or two while filling up.

I store the spout in the exterior storage compartment in the spare tire which keeps any gasoline fumes out of the cabin and avoids the risk that the spout will fall off if left attached to the can.

6. Also installed the DVAMechanics INEOS Grenadier: Interior Utility Rails in the back cargo area.

A big shout out to all the folks at this forum, including several of the supporting vendors, who helped me decide which products to install.

I also topped up the adblue by approx 11 litres, a little over 4000 miles since last fill to spill. Seems excessive.

Do you do lots of short journeys? Which would initiate more dpf burn cycles.
