What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Serious potential here, but there appears to be little information about the vendor available on line. No address, no phone number. Doesn't mean they are not legit but it does raise questions.
Agreed, I'm not jumping at the opportunity to buy an alibaba fuel tank for my rig. But it does expand the realm of opportunity for others with a better pedigree to follow in their footsteps. I do like the fact the tanks are located between the axles, rather than behind the rear. Better CG.
The size of the tank is marginally better. +7 Liters when compared to the BD tank for the Diesels.

Too bad Brown Davis or Long Range did not go this route when developing their tanks. Both are reputable vendors and I would not hesitate to buy from them. But this tank from FK does demonstrate alternative possibilities.

Installed the MetalCloak front and rear diff skid plates. It takes less than 30 minutes. Something to note: the instructions say to use the included silver anti-seize and doesn't give any torque guidance. There was no anti-seize in the package. According to a really fast response from customer support the advice is that anti-seize isn't necessary and the bolts should be torqued to 40 foot pounds. They sure look nice.

So, As @KristinaM has described it's a 'PITA' to get installed. Rohan quoted me 6 hours to do the install here at his shop outside Melb.
He mentioned if I plan on tuning the ECU which he's cracked the firewall on then the intake's limiting factor is the narrow passage within the fender well. Since he's constrained the design to fit within Ineos' origional design, and no trimming the crossover tube within the fender is rather narrow and restrictive. Surprisingly so actually.

The Stainless model he offers into the fender is a 4.5" pipe, HERE which is wholly unrestricted, allowing for max intake volume to feed the tuned engine.

Other than that, I can't recall anything further in my short visit with him. I Do prefer the look of the Aluminum intake, as it is closest to stock config.
One clever design feature he incorporated is the way he sealed the wiring for the side position lamp located on the exterior body. Instead of it going through the dead space of the snorkel, he's got a dedicated pipe running the loom through the area which effectively seals the intake from any ingress in that spot. Why Ineos' designers hadn't thought of that is beyond me.

As far as Knocks offroad, I imagine the aluminum unit will be plenty robust. It's all tig welded out of decently thick plates, then powdercoated. HERE
I'd say it would have to take some serious blows before it showed signs of distress.
The stainless one is a bit more out of the way. Horses for Courses...
Very interesting, tks for above.
