What did you do with your Grenadier today?

To gain a little more flexibility and space in the cargo area, I installed Rear seat quick release mounts from Askitus (https://askitus.com/rear-seat-quick-release-mounts/p4). These enable the seat bottoms to be removed with no tools, which allows the seat backs to fold down to a horizontal position.

The mounts are installed on the small side of the seat in this photo - the one closest to the camera is unsnapped.

This photo shows the difference - the small bottom is removed and that seat back is horizontal, the wide seat back, which doesn't have these mounts installed yet, is higher.

Another thing that's always bothered me - the two large headrests on the back seat in the US model Grenadiers. I'm 6'6" and have my driver's seat all the way back, and the seat backs with the large headrests won't fold down unless I move the seat forward. That's not useful for me so I swapped all three rear seat headrests for these low profile ones. In this photo they're pushed all the way down, but they do go up for better head support just like the factory ones.

With these the seat backs fold down while the front seats are all the way back. This picture was taken before I installed the quick release clips on this side so the seat back isn't all the way down but you can see how the headrests clear the back of the front seats.

I’ve also been looking at these quick release clamps - how sturdy are they, do they feel like they’ll last ?

Also, did you get hit with any additional import duties / tariff charges from the shipping company ?

I've only just installed them so I ave no experience on whether they will last or not but they seem well designed and sturdy.

My only negative comment would be a reflection on Ineos (or perhaps Recaro) - the screws that hold the factory clips in place go into aluminum threaded inserts in the plastic seat bottom. The screws are secured with blue thread locker, which is stronger than whatever is holding the threaded insert into the plastic so the inserts came out of the plastic. I reinstalled them with epoxy.

My total bill for all 5 brackets was $106.50. There was no additional cost other than the Fedex shipping to the U.S. that was included in that number. Presumably any tariffs required were included in the Fedex shipping.
