The meeting was fun, more than I thought. But meeting some people live is also fun. The person who organized it @HugBE was the first one to see my car one day before me (He was by chance at the lousy dealer when they got their first delivery and he posted on this forum a video of the delivery) and @Major_B and me have - besides another country AND small city in common... he is free to disclose this information

Nice looking Crossover Doc, what is the ball weight, I put Eibach springs in mine straight after delivery thinking that would be enough, but I had to fit airbags also.
The ball weight on my hybrid off road caravan is 280kg with empty water tanks, and 240kg with full water tanks.

Around 130kg as seen in the picture, fully loaded (1980kg) that may go as high as 180kg.

The Vista RV tows really well behind the IG. Almost no extra wind resistance courtesy of the van, just extra weight. It must be the go fast red stickers.

The van is about 1cm to 2cm wider on each side. No towing mirrors are needed, standard mirrors work well. I can see straight down each side of the van.

The IG is more stable at 110kph with the van attached. Van has same tyres as the car (KO2s), but we could not match the stud pattern on the rim.

You will definitely need airbags. I put airbags in mine, and I have the lighter, Classic Vista

Godzilla has performed flawlessly, although 90 liters definitely makes route planning a bit of a challenge, and he is thirsty!!.

95% on gravel roads, and not a crack to be seen on the windshield (hope I didn’t speak too soon). Seen two other Grenadiers so far

Have fun in Namibia, I love it there. I’ll be back next year.
Luckily the ROW Grenadiers have those support bars under the auxiliary radiators meaning they shouldn’t fall out. Hopefully the roads have been graded after the rains and not too corrugated. I survived with no cracked screen only a chip which I repaired enroute . I carried an extra 100l petrol in Jerry cans but now going for an LRA long range fuel tank.

- side seals for PPF

Installed the rear diff guard from MetalCloak.
A quarter-banana job IF you chase the threads with a blind hole tap (standard 10mm). Had I not done it, I could have buggered the threads and maybe break off a bolt or two.
Metalcloak provides the bolts and flat washers, but I coated threads with antiseize and used lockwashers.

Split off from family vacation in Napa Valley to get a little dirt time at Knoxville OHV. Nothing too technical, some really tight squeezes through overgrowth and lots of washes to keep the speed down.

I did my first oil change (4300 miles). It’s fairly easy, hardest part was tightening the oil filter , I was worried I could cross tread it by mistake. I did go with the recommended BMW 0w20 though I see a lot of options for other weights. Filled with 7L of oil and both the normal and offroad levels checked ok.

Not today, but last week.
"Toots" was in getting a drivers side grab handle installed, (would have done myself but have had a very bad experience with airbags on a new vehicle before!).
Had also recalls for "Engine cover replacement " and a "Starter motor cable adjustment" done, wasn't aware of those?

Also learnt via a Ronny Dahl video we have a telescopic steering wheel, another addition to the MY23 handbook.
