What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Well how life changes in a day....... this trip is now cancelled.
Yesterday while I was posting this my wife was having a routine CT Scan that she has every 3 months to check that her cancer problems haven't returned.
Unfortunately it has returned in numerous locations around her abdomen and 2 locations in her spine.

Surgery not an option so we will find out more next week on treatment options.
Sunday is Mother's Day and the doctor advised we should make the most of it. It may likely be her last.
f**k cancer.

Hey Dave, sorry to hear that and all the best for your wife. Several cancer cases in our family and friends since 2022, so we know well what all of you are going through. Never give up. 🙏

On our way to England, we spent three days in Bruges. On Tuesday, we met up with @Jean Mercier near Ghent. It was a wonderful time; we had a lot of fun and laughed a lot.
Apart from his Grenadier, we didn't see a single other Grenadier during the entire 600km to Bruges.

Today I fitted the Almont diff guards under my car, but it took more time than expected. Although the holes for the bolts were protected by plastic studs, the threads were corroded. So I had to "re-thread" them, or better said: "clean the thread". Luckily I had the tool, inherited from my father!

Finally the front diff guard was OK.

Beware, unless Almont changed its design, the diff guard should be modified for right hand driver Grenadiers as @Logsplitter showed in this thread https://www.theineosforum.com/threa...adier-today.12411127/page-233#post-1333294927

The rear diff was quite straightforward (but I also cleaned the thread - I have the car two years now and something like 56000 km).

But i was in communication with @Logsplitter who told me there was another design problem with this guard: heavy loaded or in heavy terrain the back guard will rub on full articulation.

Therefore I removed it and did cut a piece:

I installed my recent birthday gifts. A solar windshield screen and bottle opener. Windshield screen was reportedly Grenadier specific and it does fit well. Could of used a 5th sucking cup in the middle. It's about to get pretty hot in south Texas and this will be useful. Also got a bottle opener for the utility rail. Came with a safety / secure allen bolt (has the raised bump in the nut head so the average person looking to nick it won't have them on their person. A professional petty thief would) and an admonishment from my wife to 'not scratch the wagon with the bottles". Funny, she's pre-fussing about scratching paint but she is the one that got me both gifts! I put it now on the rear quarter panel but I had a coworker suggest I move it to the drivers door so I can open soda bottles from the drives seat. :)

I feel so sorry Dave and wish you both a lot of courage 😢

That’s sad news Dave B. Take time to be with your family. The Grenadier community will be here whenever you are ready for a diversion.

Is your rearview mirror and camera an after market piece of equipment? because our windscreen shield goes behind the standard mirror[OZ]and we fold down the sunvisors to kept it there (y)

Keen to know where the bottle opener came from please. 😁

I have a Wolfbox G900 Pro. It REALLY helps my city driving and I get an obstructed view of behind me. Here's a pic of the screen behind the camera. Note Wolfbox installed over stock mirror. Only issue I have is that Wolfbox came out with a 3 channel version with a front camera that is NOT compatible with the already pulled cables 3 months after I got this one. Grrrrr I'm not prone to buyers remorse but I've got one not having a front trail camera I can turn on while driving.
