Hi,

Whilst digging around the rear of the van I came across this plug that's not being used. It sits behind the panel in the boot on the passenger side, RHD vehicle.
It's towards the front edge of the wheel arch.

Anyone know what it was intended for and what type of plug it is?

Cheers

G.

Control wire for the factory inverter

Thanks, it's a permanently live feed I've found out. Not sure of the amperage and also where it's fused. But another spare feed for something.
Ours is MY23, early May, so surprised they were putting these looms in so early on but not offering the invertors in the options.

Ineos work In mysterious ways.

The fused power cable to the inverter, at least on US models, is stud 4 on the 7 stud busbar. More info here.

Which is the spare stud on this image from a AU diesel car, with no inverter. It came with the 60 amp fuse in place.

Since it is a control wire, and you've found it's live, did you check ✔️ it was a 12v control wire though, and not a lower voltage (5v). I presume it is not a canbus control.

Well before the final product was released, indeed, before final build slot deposits were lodged, there was early commentary on this forum about the "electrical preparation" including a dual battery and a 2Kw inverter... but as we've learned, the marketing hype also generated false hopes which informed customer decisions to purchase, but were later dashed once the pencils in the Ineos finance dept. were sharpened....😉

You are correct, it is a control wire. About 3v from memory.
It wouldn't be of any use for anything else.
