Tyre Pressure Sensor Lost...

Good afternoon.

Earlier this week on monday I took my Gren to my local tire shop to have a nail pulled and hole plugged from the left rear tire. The repair went well and I drove home without incident. Today was the first day since the repair I drove the truck and took it on my 120 mile round trip commute to work. On the drive home I got the amber TPMS light on the dash and the warning "Tyre Pressure Sensor Lost".

The car seems to have lost comm's with all 4 sensors. I am wondering if this could somehow be related to having the left rear tire removed and plugged? Just seems odd and very conincidental- but also doesnt make sense that all 4 sensors are now not communicating since only one wheel and tire were removed.

Anyone else experience this? Is it just a new "glitch" or should I take the Gren back to the tire shop to make sure they can verify the sensor didnt get forgotten or messed up?

Its a US spec May 2024 build Trialmaster with the 17" BFG All terrains if that matters. Also has not been in for the software update yet.

For whatever reason I lost all four TPMs readings for two days. This was a few months back and they came back on eventually and have been OK since. No idea why.

Interesting... Just seems like a very strange coincidence in my case. I've had my Gren for 10 months, logged about 5,000 miles and this happens the first drive after the wheel and tire were messed with... Hopefully it goes away I'll try driving it some more this weekend see if they come back online.

They will hopefully come back online for you. This has happened twice to me now. Both times they have come back on their own, after shutting it down for a few hours.

As for the tyre itself, a “patch” is considered a more permanent repair than a “plug”.

For clean, single hole on tread the plug works just fine. I have been at least ten times in situations where this has been the only feasible solution and none of these repairs have failed.

If there is a large crush or bruise or the leak is on the sidewall this doesn't work. I once helped a local friend who had a larger tyre bruise on his car (which according to the new style didn't even have a spare) I used three plugs and it continued to leak but after filling it he could make it to his home some 5 kilometers away.
