Trip to Cornwall - Any advice or interesting links to plan the trip?

Hi all,
beginning of July I am planning a trip to Cornwall (from Italy) and from there I would go as last year to GFOS. Would any of you UK folks an advice in which area to stay for three days and from there explore nature by car and of course walking? We would take the ferry from Roscoff to Plymouth.
@CRH are by chance from Cornwall? (You are appearing many times when seaching for 'Corwall' in the forum.

I'm not from Cornwall, I spend a lot of time there and plan to retire there soon, we already have a place there but it is currently let as a residential property.
We have travelled all round Cornwall and I can recommend many beautiful areas to stay. The Lizard peninsular is far quieter than the rest of Cornwall but the coastal walks are fabulous, as they all are.
St. Ives is the normal go to but is extremely busy and impossible to park in the holiday seasons. Use tue park and ride from Lelant and enjoy the coastal train ride into St. Ives. If you must go to Lands End but enjoy walking i would suggest parking at Sennen cove and walking the coastal path. The coastal drive from St Ives, through Zennor and St Just is a must for us as you go on to Sennan cove. St Just is a lovely little place and is home to Cape Cornwall for a little diversion, there is also a classic car garage on the way out that I always have to stop at and have a look through the window.
Perranporth has a huge beach when the tide is out and the beach bar which this year will be opening its new roof terrace.
Padstow is home to Rick Stein, the TV chef and can again be very busy. Lots of the shops seem to have Rick Stein involved.
We have stayed in many places over the years but what I am about to say a lot of people will argue against and their arguments are valid. We now generally stay in Newquay, home to Fistral Beach and the surfing competitions. It is very central to getting to anywhere in Cornwall within a sensible amount of time, close to the A30. It has Supermarkets and plenty of places to eat and drink. It's on the coast to walk the coastal paths and has a number of beaches.

that's quick and super interesting information. Just would love to enjoy the dramatic scenery of Cornwall, the nature and some culture. And yes we prefer to stay in in aerea which is less crowded. If there is good food even better;-) Found this place https://www.houselbay.com/ - not booked yet.

We stayed in the village about 3 years ago in June and it lovely and quiet in the week, gets a bit busier at the weekend. Fabulous place to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. There are a small number of places to eat in the village and the fish and chip shop has limited opening hours (i think it's still there)
The Cornish Chuffs can be seen at.the right time of year when you head to the point. The RSB have someone down there helping you with where to look. Also get a fair few seals. There are also a number of small fishing villages to visit.
My favourite ice-creamis made at a farm nearby, Roskillys ice-creamfarm. They also do lovely meals in the day and eveningwith entertainment, but i would recommend checking to see what's on.
That place looks amazing. If you want to walk, relax, and get away from it all, it's a good spotto go. It always seems that bit warmer there too.

My favourite part of Cornwall is in the area of Cape Cornwall. Overall I prefer the North Coast of Cornwall, although Falmouth, on the south coast is also a lovely place to visit . The fact that Cornwall is so narrow, means nowhere is very far away (traffic permitting). It certainly is a beautiful part of the UK.

Gwithian has a stunning long beach and sand dunes , St Michaels Mount is also a stunning place to visit especially if you get to visit at low tide. St Ives as mentioned is rammed with tourists, as is Padstow, and parking can be / will be an issue in both locations .

Hello Pat,

I live in Cornwall, near Falmouth.

Allow about an hour to get from Plymouth to the lizard, for local food, Gear Farm pasty is the one to try. Ice cream you have Moomaids of Zennor, depends where you are staying I will try t gie you some pubs. Noth Coast, good for walking and such is https://www.gurnardshead.co.uk/.

Our issue is we have no dealers down here.

Around the Lizard you have Church Cove, and on the cliffs you have http://halzephron-inn.co.uk/ which is good and you can walk around.

Just a word, people find the roads here narrow for some reason, they're not, just local drivers will not be going as slow as others
