Hey all,

Had a really strange thing happen yesterday. the Telltale cluster completely went out - none of the symbols were showing up for headlights, turn signals, etc and there was no audible "ticking" sound like you usually hear when you switch on the turn signals.

I turned the truck off and back on again, and the issue was still occurring. I got out to check and the lights/turn signals were still functional - just not displayed on the telltale cluster. Ended up driving to work, leaving the truck parked for ~2 hours, and then when I went back out for lunch, everything was functioning normally again.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a sign of some larger problem? I plan to give the dealership service center a call just to see what they recommend.

After this happened to me twice my dealer (Rusnak in Pasadena, CA) had the Telltale Cluster replaced under warranty.

Yeah, that's a weird one but not unheard of. The cluster is its own computer that can just freeze up, like a desktop computer. The fact that the actual lights worked means it wasn't a fuse or bulb problem.

The reset after sitting points to a software glitch or a temporary glitch from the battery. If it happens again, definitely get it checked. A quick battery terminal clean might not be a bad idea if they're corroded.
