Double cardan joint in the front axle failed. If anyone is able to help I think he’d appreciate it. He’s got two kids with him.

Needs parts sent to Bamaga in Australia. This could also be a good time to deploy the flying spanners service surely? Or perhaps Justin can help. We’re a bit remote ourselves at the moment and so I thought I’d put this in here and let the community do what we can to help collectively. 💪

I contacted Alex Collo at Purnell Adventure Sydney. Alex is sending the info to a contact at INEOS ANZ, so hopefully this will mean help.

Is there a contact mobile number and name? Or is it CK Barr? A mobile number will be helpful, as mobiles should work at Bamaga. At least those using Telstra.
 
They should contact the INEOS dealer at Cairns. Details are:

They should be able to arrange replacement parts.
 
For our foreign friends this guy is just short of the northernmost tip of the Australian mainland in a very remote community. He is 3400km (2110 miles) from Sydney and closer to Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea than the nearest Australian city (Cairns). A tough recovery due to the logistics.

Hopefully it's sorted quickly and can be reported back here and on FB as another positive experience for after sales service.

Seems fairly unambiguous to me, one of the compelling reasons I purchased early instead of.. dare I say... Txxota
Just need to demonstrate this.... walk the talk so confidence grows in the product and after sales service. 😀

OFF GRID SUPPORT​

We want to support our customers off the beaten track. So you will have access to workshops even where Grenadier isn’t sold. Alternatively, if you want or need to work on your own vehicles, you will have access to remote technical support from INEOS HQ. That could be by text, telephone, email, or in the shape of online manuals. If it’s a real emergency, our ‘Flying Spanners’ technicians will even fly to remote locations to keep your downtime to a minimum.

24-HOUR PARTS​

We know that customers depending on their Grenadier can’t afford costly downtime. So we are aiming for 24-hr parts delivery in major markets, thanks to a central logistics centre, regional hubs and logistics partners.

They were in contact with help quickly, but they will wait for freight to Bamaga - like most other brands.
 
This is the first time I've heard of this failure. He did mention the joint has clicked since day 1. Faulty part/install?

There have been a couple faulty joints mentioned in other groups. The reported failure rate is extremely low, not a major concern.

I guess the other thing to mention is to be wary of using front diff lock, especially if you are steering hard. Not IG specific, just the weakest link. (From experience)

I'm not suggesting the person in question did this.
