I’ve got about 1110 miles on them. I understand steel rust. But is this normal? Every wheel has it.

Rust is coming from the hub not the wheels. The wheels center on the hub boss with a very light interference fit. If you are taking your wheels off and on a lot that area of the hub will get scuffed often and easily rust where the paint has been scraped off.

If you are the picky type you can remove the wheels, clean up the hub, put a dash of paint on them but you’ll have to touch up any scuffs after you put the wheels back on or it’ll rust again. A light smear of grease or anti-seize paste can also help but can quickly become a mess if too much is used.

Alloy wheels with center caps cover the hub so you don’t see the rust but it is still a good idea to use a little anti-seize or equivalent to keep the wheel bore from corroding to the hub.
