So, knowing what you know, would you buy it again?

I used to joke that in previous vehicle i would just get on the motorway, put in cruise control and go to sleep, modern Land Rovers, and others are too easy and therefore boring to drive. So little concentration is required I do find it difficult to stay awake. I look forward to driving the Grenadier and it keeps me more alert by being involving.
Nothing quite like the risk of serious injury and loss of property to keep yourself alert!!!

I've only ever thought of the other people I may have hurt and their families, other than that it's your/my own stupidity

What do s it that keeps people alert in their Grenadier?
I can’t work out whether it’s the bings and bongs, the drops of water or the constant fear of the departure of the front drive shaft
Jokes people don’t get your knickers in a knot

None of the above... It's the whine of the psp! Just the right frequency to cause resonance in the left top wisdom tooth.

If you can't answer this simple question you possibly have stumbled onto the wrong thread.

I have just booked my Gren for it's 60,000klms service.

I had to send a pair of RM Williams boots back for repair after 6 months of wearing them in, they sent me back a new pair. I wasn't happy because the new pair had to be broken in again. The same goes for the Gren, the vehicle and I have settled in together and now it is more fun each day I drive it, so the answer is yes but it has to be exactly this vehicle.;)

Great answer.

I was three sheets to the wind (after a session with my sons at a local pub) and a bit emotional when I started this thread, struggling to comprehend the rising level of negativity towards something that gives me joy on a daily basis. Trying to put some enthusiasm back into what I view as a forum for Grenadier enthusiasts.

It seems like some people are really bothered with their Grenadiers. Why bother with something that makes you unhappy? Why not sell it and get something that makes you happy?
Some owners appear not to have done their homework, and then are upset because the IG is what it is. That is not INEOS' or the car's fault.

It is a great car and I would not hesitate to buy it again.

Reminds me of some of the Toyota lads are getting a bit hot under the collar, with Ronny' Dalh's reviews of the QM.

For me it’s the shame that’s associated with pulling up in a vehicle that I know sounds like utter shit to the general public in the vicinity.

Yes Lynn Calder - utter shame. Fix this whiny steering pump for the existing owners please

I would be on the fence. I would likely wait another model year or so. That assumes Ineos hangs in long enough to fix the problems. I personally have almost zero issues with mine at this point. Aside from the drive shaft issue I fixed my biggest grip with a new steering stabilizer. All the other stuff either doesn't affect my particular truck or is moot in comparison to the rest of my fleet.
Hi Dokatd so did you a fox stabiliser

Not sure about this one, but given that I have no plans to sell it and have every intention to run and keep it long term I guess I’m not going to be in the market. If I had let mine go I think that yes, I would be looking to buy another.

Still early with my Gren but I don't ever plan on selling it. Unless they came out with a 7 seater version (not likely). So looks like I'll have to buy another one at some point for my wife who wants Devils Red.

One of the things that's not a fair comparison with a used G-Wagon is the warranty (or lack thereof) v a new IG.
one of the things I've reminded people a million times on this site, is part of what yore buying is the warranty. If they arent doing what they should, or you live too far away, you're getting screwed.

I'm 6'5" and I sleep in mine without issue.
from the back door to the seatback, all the forward and tilted, you do not have 6'5. If you can have a fridge and other equipment in there, and sleep in fetal position sucking your thumb, more power to ya. Thats not a proper sleeping area to me. If merely falling asleep is the standard I can also sleep on rocks, sitting up in -2f with an m16, but that's not a Serta mattress, not voluntarily and only out of necessity.

It has roof you can load up, proper rear doors that expose 90% of the opening, a decent gvwr, can somewhat tow, above average off road capabilities and a super solid full frame chassis and body.

There are a ton of things I would change, and its easy to see where they went astray, but, really, there's nothing else out there, that has the above. If a new D130 had roof load rating worth a shit, it would be tempting to me considering the Gren did fall short in the wheeling category due to the front axle/driveshaft situation. Failing that category means I'm keeping the fj60 I was hoping to shed, and if I'm keeping that, I'd like to error on the luxury and massive cargo difference. But for the lack of a roof that can be loaded the shit out of though, this is it.

Theory craft the viablility to the greatest extent of your imagination but it is a viable option that I use frequently and comfortably as a person that is likely larger than most who would consider this option.
