I looked through previous threads on remote starters and it looks like there was no solution as of a year ago.

In Chicago we have unseasonably cold weather descending onto us - ugh!

Has anyone had any luck with a remote start option? Drone?

Thank you!

A parking heater or a motorhome heater or an standby heater, whatever they are called where you are. Webasto or eberspacher etc.

Some come with remotes.

Some are as cheap as £90 for the entire kit, but check for quality and build.

No factory remote start option yet. Still stuck using the app for pre-conditioning, which works but has a subscription. Some aftermarket kits like DroneMobile are available and work well. Check the forum's electronics section for the latest installs.

I haven’t heard of any reliable aftermarket starting system…do you use these? I’ve heard drone mobile has connection issues constantly

*What app are we talking about here? As far as I know, INEOS haven’t given us an official owner app yet – certainly nothing that does pre-conditioning or remote anything.
So the bit about “using the app for pre-conditioning” has me thinking if you’ve got access to some secret Grenadier features the rest of us don’t… or a different vehicle entirely.
Also, just out of curiosity… are you actually a Grenadier owner? I’ve never seen a single photo of your truck on here. Most owners can’t resist showing theirs off at least once!*

Think they are talking about something like this or a Webasto

Yes thanks for that. It just seems that there are a few inconsistencies in that persons replies like the one suggesting a dual battery system is put under the hood. Maybe they have a secret prototype that nobody has seen.
👍🏼

Less thing I want with this vehicle is more electronics, which something like a remote start would bring. I'll go out and start my car like I did this morning.

you can lock and unlock the door with the fob, and this isnt 1990's ignition system. There would be zero electrinics added. I be future cars get it, along with a heated wheel.

Now can they program it right? at this point I think that would be funny.

If there are zero electronics added, then it could be done. But you know that isn't true. Auto-start cars don't run forever - they only run for a set time. You can't keep restarting it when it shuts off automatically, you are limited to 2 times in most cases. Next thing people will demand an app - oh, an app requires cellular connectivity, all adding electronics.

Oh and gloves work really well if you can't handle a none heated steering wheel
f**k gloves. A heated wheel cant affect vehicle reliability. The only electronics i worry about are electronics that affect the ability to operate the car, and, most of those are mandated by law anyway. And being electronics tend to be more reliable than mechanical systems, i'm not that worried. the only time i have trouble is when i hear the dreaded words, "that board has been discontinued" on 1990's gensets. we're never going back to my fj40 with a sbc with a quadrajet, waterpump, and alt. The best addition ever to my fj60 was my cobbled together votech tbi, and now a holley sniper. (programming ease is awesome). If youve ever had to rebuild carbs every other year, or stalled in a super sketchy location, you wouldnt think electronics suck.

Fwiw, the Grenadier basically has a push button starter. Just that there is a key barrel to trigger it.

:ROFLMAO: you live in eastern PA. you don't even need 4wd, but yet here you are.
I didn't always live here and I'm not the one bitching about a non-heated steering wheel. I guess not the zinger you thought.
