Hi, Im Randal in Nashville, TN. I have a 2024 ineos grenadeir trial master. I keep having a message that my rear doors are not closed. I get constant dings and noises that prevent my wife from even riding in my vehicle. It also seems to be draining my battery. I have adjusted both doors as muck as I can. Should I modify the stops to allow the doors to close tighter? My dealership in Nashville is absolutely no help and refuse to even acknowledge the problem. thanks for any help. R WW

Not sure if this will be helpful or not.

I always had to slam the smaller rear door so that the sensor would pickup and I would be able to lock the Grenadier. I troubleshooted it today and I only had to bring the metal hinge on the bigger rear door out few millimeters. It is the silver metal looking hinge on the rear door here. The door sensor pickup closed now when using normal closing force.

I have the same problem. How to bring the metal hinge our? add a washer?

No washer is needed. Just loosen the two screws on the hinge in the picture and push the hinge backward toward the door rubber, then tightened the screws back. That way the smaller door lock catches this hinge on the large door sooner.

I just had this, this morning. Nothing like 15 min of bonging until I can get to a safer pull over on the highway for a slam.

Adding my experience (unresolved) here: I am getting the same "doors not locked" messages - particularly when closing the doors while standing on a slope. What I also noticed is kind of perplexing
  1. I close the large door (with enough force). Wiggling the lever, I can feel that has a pressure point. So far, so good.
  2. Then I close the small door (also good force)
  3. when driving - the bongs and display alert me
  4. When I open the small door and feel the lever of the large door, the pressure point is gone, and lever is "mushy" and it feels like the door hasn't been locked properly, pulling it slightly, the door opens.
Are you experiencing similar symptoms? Would moving the hinge help?

I'm having a similar issue - both doors properly closed. Driving over a speedbump and the display alert goes off. However my door stays properly closed, so I think it's just a sensor issue for me. Will talk to my dealer next time I'm there and ask for advice / adjustment.

Took mine in because the rear doors rattling. Early on the indicator would also come on and I’d slam the small door. I was hoping the dealer would adjust something to better secure the door. I had it checked out when I had it in for a seatbelt latch replacement. 3 hours later as I’m wrapping up with service advisor she tells me the tech couldn’t hear the rattle and the display wasn’t showing the door being ajar so no adjustment was made. I was ready to get out of there so said I’d be back.

How long have you had your Grenny? Mine did the same thing the first couple months I had it -- had to really slam the doors, but over time the problem seems to have sorted itself out. (2024 Trialmaster just over a year old)

November 2025. It definitely is less frequent on the ajar indicators but still an annoying rattle over bumps.

I’ve adjusted my rear door latch today as mines gradually coming loose and starting to rattle over bumps. All you need to do is adjust the rear centre door latch which locks the small door to the big. Undo the screws pull D hook outwards and tighten.

So I learnt the hard way today. If you adjust the D hook and push inwards the door will not lock. Easy job took me less than 5 minutes.

The sensor is not at fault. It’s because the door is not tight to the sensor and has come loose over bumps.

The problem is this - if you move the latch out, or the loop out, the sensor will be happy - but the door will be rattling like there's no tomorrow. If you tighten up the latch or the loop, the door will be silent but you won't be able to lock the vehicle since the sensor in the latch won't close.
It is annoying as f**k. I like my door tight - so I might just shorten up the sensor wires and forgo the "rear door open" warning - and hope I remember to shut it close every time.

Have you tried it? If you think about it, moving the d hook outwards actually makes the smaller door only tighter and closer to the sensor.

There are two other d hooks which are at the top for the big door, which also can be adjusted.

I definitely did. It seems that the tasks of making the door tighter and increasing the latch engagement so the sensor is happy are contradictory.
