I’m a complete electrical idiot. I’m looking to run some gear with the above specs 600W max draw, average 250W. Looking to run for 4 hours, maybe 8? I assume I’d need to run the engine, at least intermittently, or are there batteries that would be able to do this? It’s for a computer type application with a PC PSU if that matters. Want to put it in the back, plugged into a US household plug outlet.
 
Got it. Running a 250W average load for hours needs a big separate battery. A large lithium power station or a custom dual-battery setup with a pure sine wave inverter is the way to go. This isn't a simple plug-and-play job; you should get it professionally installed to be safe.

250w constant load will draw 20A per hour from your battery.

The battery is 110A, so in theory it will be flat in 5 hours. On practice you can only use half the capacity, so without the engine running you will have a maximum of 2.5 hours.

Running the engine at idle for several hours is a bad idea, so yes you will need a second battery.

Your best option is a second 200A LiFePO4 battery (you can run these to zero) which will give you 10 hours. Maybe a 300A.

You would need a high capacity DCDC charger to charge the battery in the car, a suitable inverter and of course a load of wire.

You might want to consider a portable, powerful and flexible modern option. Not sure what's available in the northern hemisphere, but in Australia plenty of people are turning to this sort of thing.
Of course it eats into the space of a fancy coffee machine but hey , you can't have everything 😀
 
Interesting, I just bought a semi off grid cabin that relies on city electricity. It’s up in the woods so potentially has issues. Like this might help with that gap. Hadn’t considered that.

Depends what you really want to do, and how clean you want the installation. The inverter in the Gren will only do 450W if you are lucky, so you need a new inverter for that 600W max. And for 8 hours you need a bigger battery. The Bluetti 200 V2 would work, and you could take it into you cabin to recharge, or run whatever when the power is out. But it does eat up space in the Gren, and lugging it around, it is heavy. But cheaper.
I installed a Rearc BCDC, 150AH Li battery and a 2000w inverter. The install is super clean, takes no space works well. Probably 2x what the Bluetti costs. My son has an older generation Bluetti that he likes.
