Would the photographers need to be compensated? I have won twice, and would happily donate my pictures without the need for compensation. Can't speak for everyone.

Distribution is the fly in your beer; transatlantic postage can be prohibitive. And as for tariffs.....

Speaking as a professional (albeit dormant) photog, it wouldn't be right to not compensate someone for his/her images. I understand your sentiments but no one should ever give image rights away for zero compensation.

To your other point - the logistics of selling stuff on the forum is a PITA. Well, for @Stu_Barnes at least. The markup on things is very small by design so we can provide for our community - there certainly isn't any BS Grenadier tax from us. But truth be told, it basically comes down to one guy to handle orders, package, and ship things out - all while having a real job, wife, two kids, house, dog, cat ... and a crappy podcast that is hard to find time for because his hapless partner also has a real job, wife, dogs...

What about a screen saver, or digital photo frame file - those can display more than 12 photographs, and content could be updated and distributed as a downloadable file from the ressources section

Aurora in Invercargill over the water tower from this Wednesday.

Can’t wait to move over to NZ nearer to where I might see this. Sadly living in North Queensland Australia I do not have a hope of seeing this locally.

Are you moving to Invercargill? We found it to be rather ordinary and bleak. A gateway town. But perhaps we arrived on a bad day. Suffice to say we only stayed 1 of 2 planned nights.

I thought it read that when we added photos to the competition section they were available to the forum for promotional and other uses? If people aren't happy they could either state that or we start again with the competition section. None of mine are worthy of publishing but I would be delighted if they were deemed to be. I would not expect payment, my thoughts were to help generate more cash for the forums existence rather than cost.
I get that some think the opposite but just make it clear or the option to opt out

Nice photos, I've always liked macro photography. There is always something interesting and intriguing about photographing the tiny details.
