I think we need another thread for people with amateur cameras.
The Doc's rule of thirds applies here. An image is one third equipment, one third technique and one third post processing. Points 2 and 3 are cheaper than a new camera.A hobby of mine to , but you’re helping justify a very expensive camera.
I took two of your earlier images of the leopard and I did about 60 seconds work on each (Point 3, post processing). They look even better now and I only had a low resolution image to work on. . I tried to swerve and miss it but caught its head. This local guy was still taking a chance though as still not dead at that point as nerve still twitching

You missed timing & luck in your points. Skill is a big one though, which you obviously have plenty of.1. leveled image
2. cropped image to get rid of distractions and put focus on the painted dogs
3. got some details from the shadows
4. got white balance correct, to remove the yellow colour contrast
5. reduced colour saturation a little, to bring back some details
6. sharpened the image for viewing on the screen and made sure the image profile was sRGB, used by PC Monitors (so colours display the best)
It took me longer to type those 6 points than change the image.

This picture reminds me of what I came home from work too last week. My 5yr old little boy had just caught and killed a snake in our chicken coop, and was showing his 3 yr old sister his kill. What species is it
Common Rat/Chicken Snake, yeah he knows the 3 not to ever get near or touch Copperhead, Water moccasin/Cotton mouth , and the not so common in our part of Texas Rattle snakes. I know he has seen me dispose of snakes around the farm the last couple of years. I don't really want my kids to handle any snakes, but I was told the same by my parents when I was young as well. "Boys will be boys" at least this is what I told his mom.What species is it

Exactly boys will be boys. No dangerous snakes in the U.K. . We have the adder but it won’t kill you unless you’re a tiny kid or very frail. We as kids were very naughty though. Brought up on my grandfathers farm having are own rodeos on the pigs and cows when grandad not around. His Large White boar would run up and down the fence line rubbing our legs on the fence to try and get us off then would turn around and try and kill you when he did get us off. The pigs were far more fun but more dangerous than the cattle. Great fun.
