Portable Air Compressor Power?

Seems like a good time to bump this. I want something portable and with the BF deals (despite already spending a shitload of money on the Panda today) it might make sense to buy something now.

I’ve never had a vehicle-based compressor and it won’t get tons of use. Besides ARB folks, can those with a different brand chime in?
I’ve now got a fixed ARB compressor in my Grenadier but my T-Max portable compressor served me well for a few years. At 160L/minute it’s good for large tyres

I’m about to buy a Viair compressor but haven’t decided if I should get the 400 line or just the 88 and call it good. Either way they have a plug I’ve not seen anywhere else that draws from the tow hitch plug! I’ll likely give this a shot unless someone sees a reason not to.

I go back and forth on removable versus on-board. I get the utility of the removable, but I know I’ll forget it and worry about it getting knicked. That and a strength of the IG is that it is set up to power on board items like the compressors. There wasn't a lot of new info, but if it helps to clarify the choices Robert Pepper did a recent video on this very topic.

I need portability as I have multiple cars spread over 100m. And a caravan.
Plus I don't carry back seaters so can store the kit behind the driver seat in the Grenadier. I use the battery jump post.
I modified the cheap but beefy twin compressor with a pressure cut off switch.
