I have manged to scrape the plastic sill cover under the drivers door and considering replacing it.

Has anybody removed one and was it straight forward?

They are held in place by 3M VHB (or similar), just pull upwards and they'll come off

Mine is coming loose from friction as I get in and out. Kind of surprised that they aren’t attached with fasteners, but I guess that could lead to water ingress and rust

Does anyone have a source for replacing? One of mine disappeared, guessing a passenger kicked it off and didn’t notice. I assume the dealer will sell One at a hefty price, curious if there are other options. Thanks!

You could have the sill surface covered with a thick spray in material like Rhino Lining or Like-X. There are plenty of adhesive tapes that can be used.

I supplemented the factory sill plate with this:

The factory door sill is useless.. I’d rather just cover it in clear pff

Because of the sill I had to cut up the pff to go around it.. waste of time and effort

I agree, it is small and tucked in closer to the body and doesn't offer much protection. I see a ton of Amazon sill plate options in many different dimensions, hope to find something larger with more coverage.
