Pan American Highway progress updates

Purnell played an immediate and crucial role. I cannot commend them highly enough, just great.
I have always found them to be very good.

I was surprised to read someone had a service problem with them on the forum recently.

My little drama today was a huge nail in a tyre. Lucky for me the nail went in on an angle into the rubber chunk on the tyre's side and not into the tyre and puncture it. Small miracle.

In terms of the repairs etc, I’m conscious that imagery can be weaponised around this sort of topic, so I’ll just share a photo of the repaired ‘bay.
Good thinking, that would end up on some stupid sites full of reasons not to buy and plenty of bull explanations.

Well done with the fire extinguisher. Where do you keep it ? I keep mine behind the front seat attached to the cargo barrier (2 seat utility ). I may have to relocate as have to open rear passenger door to get to it.
I put mine on one of those grenX brackets in front of the passenger seat.
I may need to add a second one by the drivers seat if it was this close.
I had a fire once many years ago and I've come to really appreciate the speed which one needs to get to the extinguisher when in a hurry.

There are a couple of choices including a DIY

FIRE EXTINGUISHER MOUNTING BRACKETS
  1. Quick fist brackets attached to the cargo barrier here;
  2. DIY bracket for the passenger seat here;
  3. GrenX bracket for the passenger seat here (Driver or passenger side RHD); and
  4. EURO FLO Expedition bracket which can mount Firestrykers or standard extinguishers here (Driver's side bracket RHD).

We have it mounted on the rear cargo barrier accessible from the rear loadspace.

Major concern was that I didn’t want to be sharing the passenger compartment with it if (god forbid) we came off one of these elevated tracks.

You’ll see the replacement extinguisher seen here is in a very sketchy plastic tension mount.
