I like the design of the rack, it was easy to assemble and put on the Grenadier by myself. I use it when travelling to climb up on and take pictures, and to hold gear.
Owl Magnetic Maxtrax Mount
I purchased some self adhesive round steel plates to stick to the rack surface and added 2 M4 ss screws in addition to the 3M adhesive. I drilled and tapped the plates as I couldn’t get nuts underneath. If I ever have a problem with the plate loosening, I will take the top plate off and add washers and nuts. Then I just put on the magnetic mounts normally, and Maxtrax
StarLink Mini on Flat Earth Rack – I could not find a mount I liked that would bolt on, and I wanted to minimize wind noise. So I took off the front panel, cut a hole using a jig saw with metal blade. I then repainted the aluminum with a touch up paint and reinstalled. I used some rubber edge trim to ensure no wind noise from the cut edges. I am using the Striker Magnetic Mount for StarLink Mini. I adjusted the height with 25mm long coupling nuts so it is flush with the Flat Earth surface. The magnets hold great. The Striker mound can be removed, but if I am moving the StarLink to another car, I just take out the 8 screws that hold it down and lift it out.
Next up is storage boxes, still making my mind up on which one. Will post when that is complete. I have no plans for a tent, or awning.
