Ok button, center console question

2 questions:
1 - Does the OK button on the steering wheel do anything? If so, what? I’ve never used it and it doesn’t seem to do anything that I can tell.
2 - After putting a screen protector on the info screen, I never use the center dial. At all. Yes, I’m being lazy by asking here, but does anybody know off the top of their head if there is space under there I could potentially remove the center wheel and buttons and put a recessed compartment, or perhaps a larger bottle holder? …Just thinking out loud this morning

The ‘Okay’ button is used for responding to messages on the screen like when you put the car in off-road mode.

Not sure about a cubby space under the center console

What "Screen Protector" did you put on the info screen? Still able to see it well and to use it?

I used Elite stickers. I think he’s in UT and I bought through Etsy. The image is slightly less sharp, but I haven’t noticed it after the first five minutes, and he (Ben , I think) is honest in his listing about it. I hate fingerprints all over screens and this did it for me. Now I don’t use the center buttons for anything. The touch screen works well, feels better to me, no fingerprints, I can change it easily if I want a new one, and the original screen is protected. I did also buy the hood letters and a mountain graphic for the cargo side windows from him.
Now I want to delete the center console section, unless someone here tells me why that’s a foolish idea, and possibly repurpose that section.

There is no room in the console for storage. Just center console bits.

I don’t have a huge need for larger bottles, I just thought if I can use that space for something else, it’d be useful for others to have another place to put a larger bottle or to store random coins and junk we all keep in the consoles, while eliminating something not used.

I feel you, although it is completely likely disconnecting the switch will throw codes and lights on the dash.
