Not good news for the Quartermaster in the UK

"Alliance research shows that a typical Nissan Navara Tekna, priced at £33,265 and emitting 167g/km of CO2, will see its BIK rise from £3,960 to £12,308.

The BIK on private fuel benefits will also soar from £757 to £10,286, leading to even higher costs for workers."

Holy hell. I don't know if it's still a sore subject between us, but those of us on the other side of the pond had a pretty good idea on how to deal with this kind of tyranny.
Fake news I am afraid.

For a start Nissan stopped selling pickups in Europe 4 years ago.

Also, those numbers are not what you pay. For example you would pay your tax rate on those figures, so £3k BIK could be £600 per year.

Even for the higher rate tax payer, a brand new car every 3 years for which you pay no annual car tax, no depreciation, no insurance, no servicing, no tyre replacement, no fuel costs means that the taxation costs are worth paying.

Also bear in mind that BIK does not apply for the self employed.

The UK isn't the only country being slugged with new taxes on cars. Australia is getting it's own with the beurocrats pushing towards an electric future.
National Vehicle Emissions Scheme NVES came into effect in Australia new years day. We have to wait for the price adjustments from all brands to see how much dearer each 4x4 and some passenger cars will get. There are already reports in the media about Toyota considering dropping LC70 in Australia citing one reason as NVES.
