Americas Non-Dealer approved service centers?

They have launched the dealers, but for those of us out west, you could burn a lot of your oil change just driving back and forth from the dealer for service. There was talk early one and even maps of approved service centers- some kind of Bosch location relationship. Has anyone heard anything else? I didn't want to bug the dealer about it, since I assume they assume that they will get a fair share of service work out of this. I've heard pick a local place and keep receipts, but for some of this stuff, I'd like to have someone that has an 'in' with the manufacturer to at least get info.

Also, where are the spec, manuals, and service guides?

I called Sewell in Dallas today and asked these kind of questions. They understood the issue, whether it be for routine service (or parts to perform), access to service manuals, or customer that's a days drive away with broken vehicle under warranty. I also asked about something akin to Ineos flying spanners. Nice dealer representative and they apologized for not having good answers. They did mention Ineos will be visiting them next week for training and these questions would be asked.

I plan to operate an independent ineos pirate outpost. I promise to do the work to any spec released in exchange for a bottle of properly aged rum and a pre agreed upon fair compensation in either gold or btc. For the right compensation I can also likely be persuaded to respond on site to ineos vehicles in distress in any and all corners of North America.

The Bosch relationship, presented by Ineos at the DC prototype review, was squashed by Ineos reps at the Colorado test drive. The dealer map does show at least one service center (in Phoenix), which may be the site of a future dealer. It's six-plus hours for me to the nearest dealer, which kills early adoption for me. I'll wait until more dealers / service centers are announced and more bugs are worked out.

Earlier this year Ineos (globally, not US specifically) stated that they were effectively waiting for the MY24 vehicles to hit the streets before releasing the repair manuals.

I would imagine this is because the MY24 have some behind the scenes differences that will (probably?) carryover for MY25, and easier to push one manual to last a few years than keep doing updates.

Honestly, find a good independent repair shop near you and stick with them for anything non-warranty/TSB related (I say this from working for an Independent Audi/VW/BMW/Porsche repair/performance shop for nearly 20 years). In an area saturated with dealers for all of those brands, the majority of our work is basic service/repairs on vehicles that would otherwise normally go to a dealer. Even in the days of 50k miles of free services, we had a large number of customers who would rather pay us to do the service on their vehicle than go to a $tealership for their services

Hmm, so a BMW specialist because of the engine? All the other stuff…? Considering I’m in Colorado, I guess I can probably find a specialist 4x4 shop?
If they don’t have some kind of alternative to dealer service, that is a major issue- and another reason why they should have put the dealer in Denver. Rickenbaugh Caddilac/Volvo would have been good. A competent garage crew.

Die hard BMW specialist shops probably wouldn't want to work on the Grenadier as it isn't their norm (coming from a BMW specialist shop, I know for a fact we would turn away a Grenadier).

A 4x4 shop with strong reputation that is willing to expand their horizons would probably be the best bet

Our techs are/were very spoiled I guess, if it isn't what they know/love, they won't touch it (one of the primary reasons we never started doing Mercedes, despite customers asking fairly frequently)

I'm down the street from Slee and RSG for any 4x4 needs. I'll probably do all routine maintenance myself, and run to CO Springs for anything major.
It's my understanding that Slee has no plans to produce things for the IG - kind of a bummer, they're pretty legendary in the Toyota world.

Yeah I talked to them back in the day to ask. They wanted me to bring it by once I get it so they can check it out though. Maybe I can sweet talk them into some sliders

That would be great! I want a true/proper slider with an integrated step. The leTech ones are at the top of my list at the moment but justifying whatever the crazy shipping will be won't be easy. Probably cheaper to fly there and bring home on the plane!

We are getting close to people getting their IGs here in the US. I was hoping for something on the maintenance front outside of the dealers. I guess oil changes can be almost anywhere- I assume it uses a BMW oil filter?

What really concerns me are the gremlins that might come up under warranty- things that might take some time or benefit from someone more experienced, trained, willing to put in the time- and have it paid for.

I can get mine to COS fairly easily even if it bricks out. But what a PITA.
