2025 Trialmaster in Inky Black with the HALO frame.
 
I used the 2k accessories allowance on seat covers, rock sliders, and checker plates. Almost did roof rack, but the Leitner just looks so much better and lower profile.

Its funny, my next 2 vehicles I plan to buy new now, are a 2026 Ram Power Wagon next week to replace my 2018 with high miles, and in 3.5 years a Quartermaster for a dedicated off road and overlanding rig as the Trial Master is a daily driver. To an extent it takes the fun out of a new car buying the same thing again. But Ram and Ineos are best suited for the Abuse Master.

do they glue on the checker plates? if drilled, then I'd never consider it especially since it's dealer installed. more oppty for rust.

The Checker plates are drilled and riveted on. Do not expect any issues, seem pretty straightforward to me. Its really another must so you can stand on, or more importantly set things down with out scratching the hood. Its a handy spot.

Hmmm if you rivet on the fender plates, by definition you will never remove them. So what’s the point of being concerned of scratching the paint?
 
Likewise the wing tops are aluminum as I believe the plates. The rivets are too so rust shouldn’t be an issue.
 
I’d always would rivet the glue on versions. No one expects to to get into a major frontal collision but the glue only versions will tend to fly off causing mayhem to drivers and pedestrians nearby.

How many glued on checker plate frontal collisions have you studied to be able to determine a tendency? What type of data do you have on side a rear collisions?

What sort of mayhem? Is it an ICE raid on a Korean handjob house type of mayhem, or is it like the WKRP Turkey drop episode?

Having a checker fender plate coming thru a windshield is possible and so they are no longer allowed in most of Europe except for offroad only vehicles. Just saying IMO riveting the glue versions on is my preference and recommendation.

Ok. as written it sort of read like actual repeated personal knowlege and experience resulting in a change how mount them.... my opinion is, considering the size, surface area, and lack of mass and energy these arent doing anything approximating mayhem let alone going thru a windshield. In fact, at 70mph I bet they don't even budge. loading a roof rack to it's dynamic load is going to be infinitely more hazardous and much more to be concerned about.
