Personally I don't understand all the Landrover stuff.
JLR admit they changed direction and went for the more upmarket, mall crawler, chelsea tractor, soccer mum market as it is larger and offers better sales and profits.

I think it is attempting to trigger those that want the old LR specifically, not necessarily swinging people away from current LR

Interesting advert moment. I have direct tv and when you pause something ads will cycle through. Well a Grenadier ad is showing. It’s just cycling between still images but it’s there nonetheless.

I was driving from the hudson valley to newark this weekend and saw a Grenadier billboard around the NYC area.
