Nato Plugs - Aus - Finally Arrived!

So after a fair bit of work i put together a facebook group buy for the 35mm2 and 50mm2 nato plugs.

35mm2 worked out to $71aud each and the 50mm2 were $82 delivered to me.

I'll look at maybe doing another group buy should anyone want any.. or possibly get some made up cable assemblies to anderson.

Very impressive plugs though! Way bigger than I thought...

I just added the Nato plug to my compressor.

I put a rubber hose over the wires so they would fill the exit points on the Nato plug.
It also helps keep the plugs seated.







The Nato plug has a litte cable holder that should be inserted:

I used a heat gun to soldier the wires.
Set it to 1250 degrees Fahrenheit.
Used crumpled aluminum foil to hold the pin while it was heating. Flux on the pin and the wire. Folder the wire over to make it larger.

Created a pool of melted solder and fux in the open pin end. Inserted the wire and heated while adding solder. Used the small hole in the side of the pin to add more solder.


Worked out well.



I have another Nato plug that I plan on putting on old jumper cables.
