More shocks available

Shock upgrades have been great on other vehicles, but surprisingly the Grenadier really loves higher quality shocks, and the bigger the better (ok, within reason... a street driven vehicle with 3.0s won't see any real improvement over a 2.0 shock)
Would you mind expanding on this statement? For on road driving, do the shocks absorb expansion joints and bumps better when compared to the stock shocks?

Yes without question, I have the Koni Raid shocks, set in the middle of their range and expansion joints are much more controlled and less jarring than previously... The low speed compression (slow motions upward for the shock) is not drastically different on road; but both on road and off road high speed compression (expansion joints, rapidly uneven gravel/rocks in a dirt road, etc) are so much more controlled.
 
Cool. Post pics, that is the combo that interests me. And I'd love a review of his you feel it handles vs stock. Both highway and off highway is of value to me.
Here's some not great pics (including bike rack). Highway is better for sure, but part of that is the steering dampener upgrade. Offroad comments coming soon.

I got tired waiting for agile. I ordered the fox 2.5 April 2 and still no shocks. They told me that they think the shocks are weeks away from shipping when I called them yesterday.

I prefer to buy from a specialist shop and I have great respect for the team at agile but I can't wait. Tirerack.com has the shocks in stock. Slightly less money too. Overnight shipping to my address with no extra charge.
 
I ordered the Fox 2.5 from Fastmodz.com. I saved about $1K from what anyone else could sell them for. I believe total price out the door, no shipping or tax was $2,687.74

Installed them last weekend. Took about 2 hours with some help, love the way it rides.

I have the Eibach 2.5 lift with Toyo Open Country 315/70/17 (metric 35's)..

I think Fox has dozens (hundreds?) of shock configurations and they run them in batches. I have a 4Runner with +2 long travel suspension. All the outlets said the same story, that the shocks would arrive within a week, but it took more like 6 months for the shocks to arrive.

I think the outfitters are just echoing what Fox told them so I can’t really fault them. I got so frustrated with it that I finally called Fox customer service and they explained that they don’t make unusual configurations year round.

My point is maybe the Grenadier is just custom enough putting it beyond the mainstream production.

But hey, I’m known to be wrong!

This is the same for King. King needed a minimum order before they would put the Grenadier shocks in line for production. Then we all had to wait for that production date before they made them. Took forever it seemed. But they came eventually.
 
Quick update on Radflo 2.5 adjustable. They have been awesome, haven't gotten them off-road. For the last 600 miles, they have been buttery smooth on the street. They are adjustable but I haven't made any adjustments from factory. What I can say, no body roll or diving when on the road. Had a friend with air suspension in his Land Rover, state these things feel like air suspension on the street.

Very happy with purchase and will update more when as time goes on.
 
I talked to Agile Offroad the other day and found out the reason for the delays with the fox shocks. Apparently the mounting points of the Fox Performance elite shocks are being redesigned. They were hoping to have them on sale by August. Does anyone know about this? I am not sure if this information is accurate but that's what I was told.

In the interest of providing an update, I called Agile again and talked to a different person. I was told that the person I talk to previously may have given me incorrect information. Lead time is about a month.
 
Hi, does anyone know if there is anything particularly complicated with installing the fox shocks? I know about cutting into the liner in the front, but otherwise its just a straight up bolt-in application?
No wheel alignment etc needed?
I'm thinking i'm going to do it this weekend myself.

You shouldn't need an alignment, but you may need a spare jack to compress the shock when installing it. It should be similar to this video:

It's very easy. The hardest part by far is trimming the liner due to the insulation being glued to it. Ultimately a really sharp knife is the fastest option oddly enough.

It's best to jack the body up rather than the axles. And though you can jack the shock up into place I would advise against that if possible. You can do it with the tires on or off but the front is vastly easier wheels off.

Jack the frame of the truck up until you just reach full shock travel on the corner you are working on. Then loosen the shock bolts. The stock shock should come out easily. Then just slip on the Fox shocks in place. Pretty much that easy. Then move to the other side.

Agile publishes a template for trimming, I'd follow that to a T if I were you. It's pretty accurate but maybe ever so slightly liberal.
