Are the previous lights made elsewhere?

Yes, they were from Nolden, a Cologne, Germany based company which produces their lights in Taiwan.

BTW, Nolden is the direct neighbour of Matzker, the Ineos Dealer in Cologne.

Nolden is best known for their military LED lights and their quality. The last year of the Defender received Nolden 7" lights, which were also used for many military G Wagon.

Nolden stuff is lovely, but it is no bargain.

Ineos Automotive is a business, if they can get the same quality for less money, they will go the China. Capitalism in action.
(I am not comfortable with unfettered free market capitalism; if assets are not priced accurately, the market will make stupid decisions, especially where public assets are concerned)
