Model Year 2026 (MY26) – Confirmed & Speculated Changes

A new part number is not fixing the issue. You need to come to terms with that. They would have to completely redesign the front shaft which would involve completely different joints that don't seem to exist in the OEM world at the moment.

The fix is going to be a different front axle configuration. You might not even notice the change if they stick to Cararro.
A high pinion diff would be one solution.

One more thing mentioned was that it now comes with a driver facing camera as a security feature. Most likely to improve the vehicle's ability to prevent accidents and maintain safe driving conditions by monitoring the driver. Keep us posted once you get the details of you '26 TM.

A driver facing what now??

More of the great nanny state intrusion items we all like to see. Somehow the mirror monitors the driver and will provide feedback as to what it believes are you inabilities to drive properly or safely. The one I looked at in Plano Texes (Sewell) had a lever at the bottom of the mirror for shifting it to night and day positions. Seems like a step backwards to me but, am sure, it will be welcomed by some.

What is on the 2024's and 2025's now? I have a wolf box so I do not remember. My Escalade has that lever but that is for from regular to video camera rear view. I have found that auto diming is hit or miss. My 2010 Expeditions mirror auto dimmed so much all you could see are headlights.

It could very well be a lidar sensor. I don’t think it’s a regular camera like on the Wolfbox. The word camera was used to describe it. This is INEOS aligning with vehicle safety standards more than an awaited feature.

Whoehoe got one! What’s your bid? :ROFLMAO:
Got a 2023 model expecting a few issues, not disappointed, but i knew i couldn't live with all the regulatory cr@p that was coming from the EU and their never ending safety laws. It's almost as though they don't want us to own cars 🤔

They just want you all in the same vehicle

Sounds like it’s a driver monitor system you find in many vehicles. Will bong you if you are not looking straight out or drowsy looking - these require somewhat advanced computer vision, to make sense of what the camera is capturing.

It’s scary that Ineos is deploying this tech. Shit - it’s still trying to figure out its y2k bug

Is this the data camera that's been fitted to GM, Ford, Hyundai and other vehicles , the data from which they flog off to all manner of companies for nefarious purposes.... not that I'm cynical or suspicious 😈

I doubt Ineos Automotive is sophisticated enough to have a profitable data harvesting operation.

Not sure it was Ineos idea to put this nanny crap in the vehicles but were required to.

Confirmed 2026MY changes:

  • Updated steering box to improve on-center feel (reduced dead spot)
  • Improved turning circle (supposedly wheel offset has been tweaked and steering stops adjusted to suit)
  • Revamped HVAC system - including new software programming and re-routed ductwork in the dash
  • New Emergency Lane Keep Assist (not steering intervention - individual wheel brakes are activated to attempt correction of a swerving off-the-road scenario, much like stability control)
  • New Driver Attentiveness Monitor (camera based system in rear view mirror)
  • Auto dimming rearview mirror
  • Spare tire cover letters are now in color

I've driven 2026s - the steering feel is maybe 10% improved. Return to center characteristics are unchanged. Mostly, the steering feels heavier on center. I could not immediately tell a dramatic difference with the turning radius. I have not extensively tested the HVAC system yet, but can confirm the fan noise still exists on speed 4. The Emergency Lane Keep Assist is transparent - I tried to make it activate and could not sense any intervention.

I'm told that the Driver Attentiveness Monitor is EU mandated. It was also unobtrusive. Note that Grenadier does not have any remote connectivity, so there is no data being transmitted anywhere in real time.

Incremental improvements overall. All generally positive changes.

Did the dealer provide documents of this stuff or are these your observations? I don’t doubt the latter but would never trust the former.

I forgot the updated headlamp design. The Halo ring / DRL and turn signal ring are now two separate functions and can operate together. Visually, the halo ring just appears slightly thicker around the rim of the lamp when off.
