M Power logo below the shifter?

I was watching John from Owl install a Supra shifter in his Grenadier and I noticed that below the shifter assembly there was a BMW M Power logo on the cover just below the shifter. Was this a thing or is this a bit of freestyling?

Nice, mine arrived over the weekend which was why I waa watching the video. Now all I need is a TF case shift knob to replace the hollow plastic ball.

Doesn’t take long before one starts to think this is a must have. Looking at cost and availability, here in UK.
Funny thing is, I don’t really have any issues with the original shifter design.

The factory shifter was the same as my X4M40i But I just wanted a more bulky looking shifter for the Ineos.
