Had an alarming noise happen multiple times this weekend in warmer weather — see attached video. It’s a metallic-y screeching sound when I slow down (and happens whether or not my foot is in the brake). But then it goes away once at a complete stop (this all happened during
city driving). Any ideas? (This is not the “normal” steering whine).

Love our rig, but a bit frightened by this sound.

Thanks in advance for your collective wisdom!

Check if it changes wirh engine rpm...however, for me it sounds like related ro rolling speed:

Possible sources:
- Wheel bearing (bad, can lead to a complete block with a lot of damage and possibility of an accident), check carefully if the wheel hub is hot
Mounted to tight or no grease.

- Drive shaft

-Stone in the brake (reversing a few meters can get rid of it)

- Dirt, stone somewhere between turning parts and some kind of a metall protection shield near the wheels (if such thing exist at all)

If it were a Land Rover I would add the hand brake.....but no clue about the hand brake of an IG.

Be careful!

Lift the car and turn each wheel by hand to check.

Try reversing quite fast and brake hard a few times, to remove any possible stone jammed in the discs.

Another suggestion, make sure all your lug nuts are torqued.
