Letter to Lynne Calder

I dropped my Grenadier off at my local dealer (Rusnak Pasadena) this morning to have the windshield replaced and reset the service reminder since I did the service myself. While I was there I asked if they could do the software update. She smiled and said that she was planning on surprising me with it. They also gave me a brand new loaner with 25 miles on it. That is what I call great service.
Is the update all we would have hoped it to be?

Hey,
I do have it wedged, and for some reason randomly it still just shuts off when stopped. Funky thing is the light goes out on the Start/Stop switch even though it’s wedged and the car doesn’t re start. It’s very very strange
I have noticed this just once in the past 2 weeks since I wedged it. Caught me off guard too.

It is driven by emissions and the impact of carbon taxes on manufacturers;; you cannot meet the urban cycle/combined cycle targets without it, economically.

(It's not 'law' law in the UK, but to not do so would be economic folly).
You can be fined in the UK if you sit with your engine idling in traffic or whilst waiting. If not the whole of UK then some cities.
I have also read that in some US states it is going to become law.

All this is from reading articles on the Internet so probably a load of sh*te

No, you are right; extended idling is an offense; one that PCSOs, (Police Community Support Officers), use on parents outside schools on a regular basis.

If you restart in less time than the system takes to shutdown and reboot then you can get the start stop re activating. What used to be "great it remembered my setting" gets turned on its head.

How do I know, well ive been testing this convenient medallion holder.

Is this enforced even in basic traffic, coming to a complete stop?
I've never seen it, but as a Police Community Volunteer, I have seen the parents waiting in silly places for their little darlings to be released from school being offered a fixed penalty ticket or turn off the ignition! School gates can be absolute hell!

The school bus is the primary delivery mode in my rural area. But modern parents insist on parking at the end of their driveway so their offspring doesn’t get cold or wet. I believe this is Darwinism…

I'll let you know when I get the car back later in the week. They want it for 3 days to replace the windshield and update the software. I think most of the time is for fitting it into the window installer's schedule.
Rusnak just replaced my windshield, was with them for 3 days as well. I have appointment next week for the software update so I’m curious. Thanks

If you can train yourself to press the flush button after taking a leak you can train yourself to hit the start-stop button.
You can teach an old dog new tricks by consulting Pavlov! Those old Russians knew a thing or 2.
Unless you start and stop the vehicle 30 times a day. I can’t understand why everyone is so happy to just accept nonsense that shouldn’t have to be. My BMW’s stay off, never have to re press the start stop. It’s not about training, it’s just not needed. I can get my Beaver in the air with less nonsense. The grenadier is a frustration. An unneeded frustration. Get in, turn key, wait for HVAC to cycle, start, turn off start/stop, don’t press fav too quick or you’ll crash car play, wait and wait, press fav, disable ADAS, pres fav again, cross fingers CarPlay doesn’t crash, put in drive.

Now My DHC-2

Spin Prop no hydro lock go
Master switch On
Prime 5x
Engage starter
Energize boost coil
Switch on Mags

Lots of smoke, the remaining cylinders fire, we’re off!

One is a truck that stays on the road, the other is airborne, can carry 2000lb in its cargo hold and can fall out of the sky.

Why is it I can fly a plane with more ease than a 2024 Ineos?
