Letter to Lynne Calder

Seriously! The ADAS click has a workaround.

The steering pump, HVAC issues are mysterious in nature and are embarrassing issues for the brand.
We don’t want a ridiculous work around that shits the bed half the time. We want the promised update. Why everyone is so accepting of what they would absolutely no accept from any other brand is strange to me.

I think Tom's carefully considered letter and calm mature call with Lyn Calder has achieved the correct route.
No Trumpian petulant angry masturbating, which seems to be a more than occasional thing around here and on the festy swamp of various socials.
There's no point in have a hypertensive stroke or mental breakdown over a car. Unless you want to spend money at the doctors ;)
If toms letter doesn’t enumerate all the information that was repeated brought forth by complaining, it would be devoid of pertinent content.

Really, everything he is addressing with her, all of the content, is due solely to people coming onto social media and publicly lambasting Ineos. Everything.

The only reason she paid any attention to the letter, was because she had already heard all of the complaints, they are unavoidable and getting to be the brand identity, and it’s a last ditch attempt to reign it in.

If any of this gets fixed, you owe nothing to Tom’s letter. You owe everything to the people that wouldn’t sit idly and get screwed.

The only thing Trumpian in this scenario, are the sycophants continually and repeatedly fawning over the product, unable and unwilling to address it failures, and attacking any who do.

Because they see the truck as part of their identity, and not as a truck. If you insult the truck you insult who they see themselves as. You could point out faults with their children and get less of a hostile response.

I have no steering pump whine. It is silent when driving. Slight wine when starting from stationary. The fluid is at max and it's a 2025 model.
These people and many like them do. It makes the car a bad experience and obliterates the resale. On the bright side, I'm sure they feel better knowing yours is silent. They should be a team player and stfu though, right?

No, my response is that maybe the issue may have been addressed. Maybe they then can use it the information and get a solution.

But being from Boston, my response to you is GFYS. It's a term of endearment we share with people like you.

I do agree - just posting to get to the truth.

As I have said before, I find this Forum depressing as people seem to want to vent their spleen. Like you I do enjoy it - when people share the positives and to be truthful we all know the negatives.
Just read your post about Annee.

I can tell you that there has not been one account from this community that has been deleted because of their opinions.

If an account is closed the system renames it to deleted member xxxxxxxxx that’s by default.

If you wish to ask Annee then instagram would probably be the best way to

Anyway back on topic.

Guys, time to rein in the abuse. For the avoidence of doubt, stfu and GFYS, both count!

Generally when dealing with corporates, I have found being unfailingly polite works wonders, especially when the transcripts are read back in Court.
Abuse is unnecessary, we all have differing opinions and beliefs. If you have strong ones there is no need to abuse others who also have strong but differing beliefs.
I joined this forum as one that is understanding of our differences but all want the best for our vehicle. I can see everyone's side to their arguments and complaints/positivity. Some have good experiences some not so and some just plain awful. If we can't comment on both sides of our experience then the forum is pointless. We do not develop and progress from throwing insults, we work together to be stronger and to improve. Together we may get somewhere with INEOS & Lynne, but backbiting won't get us anywhere.

Well, that's was a load of sycobable b****cks!!. Time for my pills and a nap

I have had you PM me and also my namesake Jeremy about my post. FFS - what has happened to free speech? If you feel this way - delete me. I can live my life very happily without reading the moans on here.

Furthermore what is the assumption I have an Instagram account - I don't? Or TikTok or other such.

Totally agree! Just asked for my account to be deleted too. Not being brow beaten by moderators for asking why Annee was deleted. Just not on........

I wouldn't take it to heart, I enjoy your input, and did Annee's too. The reply from Stu was factual and in written text can come across as cold and scolding. I think this why we have half of the abuse on here. Typed messages do not get any emotions across, whether joking, helpful and especially sarcastic (my favourite) and when read cause upset and resentment to the person concerned where as others may see nothing but help or a joke.
There are certain people on here i wish I could meet in person as I do find their tone confusing, we all live in different countries and have different ways.

I never anticipated that this thread would become what it has.

I approached the situation in a businesslike fashion. I have been running a business for over 20 years and I just used the same approach I would use with a client or supplier.
It would be a shame if this thread was the cause of members leaving the forum.
If you bring 10,000 people together you are bound to get personalities who clash, we can’t all have the same views or opinions. I would advise anyone to remember that. Just ignore the posts you find annoying and move on.

I still think that the overall effect of this thread and my letter has been positive, and that can only be a good thing. Of course I have the advantage that having spoken to Lynn Calder personally and so my own intuition comes in to play. I believe that she is sincere and genuine in her desire to put things right, that may not have come across in my responses following our conversation.

We will see what she comes up with next, she did say I’d have further information next week.

Tom, it is not your content. You have done a tremendous job and Lynns response was brilliant. I just received two PM's from the moderators and I really don't need any hassle in life these days. I have learnt some great things on the Forum, but I do get fed up of the negatives, so will be happy to be deleted in the morning.

What are the negatives for you? I am genuinely interested.

I have been felling trees for 20 years. If there’s one thing that tends to get people riled up it’s felling trees. I have had to deal with all sorts of behaviour over the years. People chaining themselves to trees, threatening, abusive behaviour etc.. after all that I just don't get worked up over what some guy on the internet thinks. But I can understand how someone else might.

DM me if you don’t want to say.

From what I have gathered on this forum more than others it seems is sort of 3 “camps” the “Ineos is amazing and all the issues are NBD” or the “don’t comment just read and mostly passive” and the “ What a shit show why is Ineos so screwed up” and the clas is between groups 1 and 3. Anyone who has had any serious issue with the truck is shamed and told to stop complaining by the “I love my Grennie” group. Like anyone who has an issue should just be happy that Ineos made the truck and should accept all the problems as “normal” I myself have clashed with several people here who basically told me to either accept sub par no excuse build problems or “sell it and move on” that I should be grateful to the Ineos gods for building a truck that spent more time with the dealership then it did in my possession in a year of ownership. It seems group 1 and group 3 have very different views of how the forum should work as well. Group 1 wants only positive posts with no complaints, while group 3 wants solutions and to make it public that there are actual serious flaws with the truck. And to be honest this forum has had some pretty serious clashes that don’t make sense to me. I’ve never understood how people can choose to be so unkind to people having serious problems with a vehicle. Meanwhile others seem content to accept serious short comings as quaint Quirks that are NBD. I truly have no idea, it’s a strange forum.

Grumpy old people is one thing.
Angry grumpy old people just bring themselves adverse cardiovascular events.
And who aspires to those?

It's not that weird - have a look at some of the smaller enthusiast car fora, like Lotus, Morgan or BAC. Much of what we are experiencing is a consequence of Ineos Automotive being a new start-up with limited staff and bandwidth. The problem is both extremes are true - IA have done an incredible job bringing a new niche vehicle to market, so nearly right; and there are some massive flaws in marketing, logistics, software choices, customer service, provision of support and general public relations.

There will always be conflict between fan-boys and grouches, and each will appear crazy to the other. (I've been on fora and a mod on various for years).

I'm an optimist and believe that time and enlightened self-interest will correct the big issues and the little ones will become "character" with familiarity.
