Hey, just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this issue.

So the car locks fine with the central locking system when I press the 'Lock' symbol on my key fob.
However when I return from the shop, or the next morning - whenever to Unlock the car, the system isn't recognizing the button press.

I must then press the 'Lock' button again, which gets the headlights to react, and I hear the mechanism confirm the lock, I can then subsequently press 'Unlock' shortly after, and the system recognizes the unlock demand.
Not sure it's a problem with battery life - as the lock function works flawlessly.

I did get re-keyed due to the sticky buttons a month or so back. It's been working normally for the last three weeks up until now. not sure if that may be related.
Thanks for reading.

Does this happen with both keys?

Same issue with mine. I swapped keys with the Mrs. and her's is fine. Not worth a trip to the dealer, but it's annoying.

I received an alert on the dash the other day that said something like "Keyfob battery low" so I changed it of course. It was only 2-1/2 months from date of purchase, but I presume it had sat around on a shelf for a year or so.

I’ve also found that I need to press the unlock and lock for a beat and not just a quick click. That’s solved any issues with the fob not working.

Must be some old FOBs or batteries. 2 months in and I got the same message this morning.
I got it once for a few days but then it went away. I never changed the battery and have not had an issue since.

I unlocked my car from what I’d consider to be an extreme range yesterday - approximately 50 yards. Shortly after I started the vehicle, I received a low key fob battery alert on the dash. This despite changing the battery about 10 days ago after receiving the same warning. I did not receive that warning after a stop/start at my next destination.

I wonder if the low battery is triggered when a low-strength RF signal is received (or maybe lots of dropped packets) instead of the actual battery voltage. That would explain the behavior I saw.

There are two methods around, one where the fob sends a low battery packet and the other where the vehicle sees low RF strength.
So it sounds like the IG uses the second type, or maybe both.
