After not having seen a single Grenadier in Iceland in the last few weeks, I noticed the silhouette of a Grenadier in the distance this morning in a remote location in the north-east of Iceland. I walked there and saw this beautiful Magic Mushroom standing abandoned. The doors were unlocked and the key was in front of the display. After waiting for the driver for some time without success, I walked back to my vehicle. As soon as I got back, a helicopter flew in and landed next to the Grenadier . So I ran back there. On the way there, I met a couple of men who had got out of the helicopter. I asked them if there was anyone else at the Grenadier and they said yes. I walked straight to the Grenadier and the driver opened the door. The two of them and I greeted each other with a friendly handshake and introduced ourselves. I didn't know the driver, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was sitting in the passenger seat. I told Jim that I myself owned the first Grenadier delivered to a dealer in Germany and that I was now finally seeing the first Grenadier in Iceland. He told me I'd been to the wrong places. There would be about 40-50 Grenadiers on the road in Iceland. We talked briefly about this and that. As is customary, I asked Jim if I could take photos of his helicopter and the vehicle, to which he replied in the affirmative. As I respect privacy, I didn't ask for a photo to be taken together with him. In addition to the Artic Truck tyres, the type of auxiliary headlights on the Grenadier are also interesting. Apparently the guys have already realised that the standard auxiliary headlights are not the best. I then met the men in another Grenadier with the imprint ‘Six Rivers Iceland’. It is a not-for-profit conservation programme, which seeks to reserve thedecline of Atlantic salmon. We were also able to take a look at the Ineos jet. This meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe made my holiday in Iceland unforgettable. Many thanks for that Jim!
