Grenadier Spotted

IMG_9097.jpeg

Cape May.

Not really ‘spotted’ in that it’s mine, but my IG has a new ‘home’. Bought a place up in the mountains. My midwestern background says it’s on top of a mountain, my Colorado wife calls it a hill. I guess it isn’t named, so it’s not a real mountain. Looking forward to exploring in the IG. Really MileHigh, actually 8500 feet…

Saw a green with a white roof in Winter Park. Didn’t get a good look, but it looked like it had some gear on it and a very nice patina of dust dirt. First one that I’ve seen up in Grand County.

Two miles high, and then some…

Saw what was either SW or MM with maybe black rear corner wraps on Rt 78 outside Alburgh VT about noon on Sat 7/12.

Such a good stretch of road
And such a good vehicle for it. Granted I wasn’t towing anything, but I had a couple people and a fair amount of stuff. The turbos on that thing have it performing at altitude like a TA152. It’ll go faster than I wanna go on that road. And on the way down with that eight speed transmission, full-time four-wheel-drive and my 285 is on there, you barely have to use the brakes. Same thing coming down I 70 in the Denver. This thing has so much Mechanical and aerodynamic drag. It’s a pleasure to drive it downhill.

Spotted three other grenadiers in and around Cape May. Eldoret blue with black roof. Eldoret blue with white roof and a lot of gear (It may have been the same one I saw last year) and a solid Magic Mushroom.

Was heading back again last night. I thought I’d wait long enough for the afternoon storms to dissipate. Ended up doing this 11,000 foot pass in a torrential thunderstorm that turned into hail. Luckily I don’t think my truck took any damage, but there was 2 inches of ice near the top of the pass. My mother-in-law was with me and said it was the worst weather she had ever been in in her life in Colorado. The hail wasn’t big, but it was very intense, we couldn’t even talk to each other at one point. It was so loud. Just kept the grenadier in standard mode, thought about putting it in four high, but didn’t even need to.
