Independent Event Grenadier Oktoberfest

Itsdchz are you going to try for a site with power? I have never tried that to run the AC before, its always in the middle of nowhere all summer. Should be plenty cool by then, but you never know.

If possible that would be great, otherwise, I’m just happy to get any spot.

I have a stock Trialmaster and have the factory side steps. I think that limits me to what trails I can drive due to the side steps. Anyone know what the highest rated trail I can drive?

Since I'm driving through Colorado wondering if I should make a stop at Owl Vans and get a set of side steps installed.

Not entirely sure, at this point. I was added as a late trail leader. ( Metal Masher) But I would HIGHLY encourage you to grab the owl sliders. I have them, and love them. Nerf bars are just a hazard off road.

I thought the trialmaster was sold with sliders and not steps (?)

You’ll be fine with those on anything less than wipe out hill or metal masher. Hells revenge is probably fine too if you’re careful. Owl, Dissent, buzz… etc, make great sliders. I prefer Dissent, because they are so strong you can park the whole truck on one side, and they don’t have a too rough top of step portion to catch mud or poke bare feet, but (like most) they are a pain in the ass to mount. Swingarm, Oil pan and diff skids are recommend. Adrenaline HG is just south of Montrose CO. You might see if they can do em’ on your way out to Moab or with the group doing rimrocker

I'm not familiar with Adrenaline, is the Ouray or Moab? I've not done the KOA before but it is pretty far from town. Not big deal if the group is smaller. It's just kind of nice to be in town for drinks, meals, etc.

BigJMass, are you RTT, ground tent or trailer? Your reply implies ground tent. I think all the "RV" parks in Ouray will be typical RV site. 4J+1+1 is RV only.
Adrenaline HQ is a good shop just south of Montrose Co.

I really like the dissent sliders. And i've poked a hole through a transmission (not the grenadier) and destroyed a gas tank on a mountain. Enough that i went for full protection.

In moab you'll be fine though, at least that was my experience.

I signed up too. Leaving from Iowa if anyone is interested, it would be a lot more fun to have someone else to chat on gmrs while we drive 17 hrs :)

Nothing yet. Was planning amphitheater campground above town but if we have a larger group assembling, yes we might need to do something like KOA.

Would love to have the company and meet new people so consider yourselves part of the caravan
Hi, I am coming up for the Ouray pre rally rimrocker trip. Do you have a meeting spot picked? We plan on camping at the arena.

With the change in the weather this week I will be in Ouray next Sunday and Telluride Monday & Tuesday. Anyone going to be in the area driving any trails? Unfortunately I have to miss Octoberfest.

Checking in! I'm signed up. I'll be coming in from the Ouray area. I'm trying to get a few Grenadiers that might be coming from Texas, New Mexico or central Colorado to come do a few trails and catch the aspen trees changing color in Ouray/Silverton/Lake City if anyone is interested, arriving September 28th. I'll likely leave Ouray Wednesday October 1st, head to Montrose to catch the Rim Rocker trail for a two day slow drive and camp for arrival in Moab on the afternoon of the 2nd.

I'll likely be camping for the event and would like to join others this might be doing the same.View attachment 7907361
With the change in the weather I will be in Ouray on the 28th, heading to Telluride on the 29th (Imogene Pass if no snow) if you are still going to be in the area.
